POLITICSՓետրվարի 16-ին ԱԳ նախարար Այվազյանը հանդիպեց աշխատանքային այցով Հայաստան ժամանած Միացյալ Թագավորության արտաքին գործերի, համագործակցության և զարգացման նախարարության Եվրոպական հարևանության և Ամերիկայի հարցերով նախարար Ուենդի Մորթընին և նրա գլխավորած պատվիրակությանը:
Ողջունելով հյուրերին՝ նախարար Այվազյանը նշեց, որ այս այցը լավ հնարավորություն է՝ անդրադառնալու երկկողմ օրակարգին և ուրվագծելու այն հարստացնելուն ուղղված համատեղ քայլերը: «Մենք բարձր ենք գնահատում Հայաստանի և Միացյալ Թագավորության միջև հաստատված փոխգործակցությունը և լիահույս ենք, որ կկարողանանք համատեղ ջանքերով նոր լիցք հաղորդել հայ-բրիտանական երկկողմ օրակարգին»:
Զրուցակիցները մտքեր փոխանակեցին փոխադարձ հետաքրքրություն ներկայացնող ոլորտներում համագործակցության ընդլայնման հեռանկարների շուրջ՝ որպես առաջնային ուղղություններ առանձնացնելով տեղեկատվական տեխնոլոգիաների, ստեղծագործ կրթության, վերականգնվող էներգիայի, զբոսաշրջության ոլորտները:
Հանդիպմանն անդրադարձ կատարվեց նաև տարածաշրջանային անվտանգության և կայունության հարցերի: Նախարար Այվազյանն այս առնչությամբ նշեց. «Մեր տարածաշրջանում ստեղծված ներկայիս իրավիճակը Թուրքիայի անմիջական ներգրավմամբ Ադրբեջանի կողմից ուժի կիրառման հետևանք է: Ինչպես Դուք իրավացիորեն նշել եք նոյեմբերի 8-ին Համայնքների պալատում ունեցած ելույթում՝ այն չի կարող դիտարկվել որպես հակամարտության հանգուցալուծում. միայն բանակցված քաղաքական կարգավորումը, որը կհարգի բոլորի իրավունքները, ճանապարհ կհարթի պատերազմի պատճառների և հետևանքների վերացման համար, կարող է կայունություն, տևական խաղաղություն և ի վերջո՝ հաշտություն բերել Հարավային Կովկասի տարածաշրջան:

Արցախի դեմ ադրբեջանական ագրեսիայի հետևանքով առաջացած հումանիտար հարցերի հասցեագրման համատեքստում ՀՀ ԱԳ նախարարը զրուցակցի ուշադրությունը հրավիրեց Ադրբեջանի կողմից հայ ռազմագերիների և քաղաքացիական անձանց, այդ թվում՝ կանանց, պատանդառության քաղաքականության վրա՝ նշելով, որ «դա մարտահրավեր է ոչ միայն Հայաստանի, այլև բոլոր նրանց համար, ովքեր արժանահավատորեն և հետևողականորեն հանդես են գալիս միջազգային ասպարեզում մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանության դիրքերից»:
