ՀՀ ԱԺ նախագահ Արարատ Միրզոյանը փետրվարի 16-ին ընդունեց ՀՀ-ում  Շվեդիայի Թագավորության նորանշանակ արտակարգ եւ լիազոր դեսպան Պատրիկ Սվենսոնին:

Շնորհավորելով դեսպան Սվենսոնին նշանակման կապակցությամբ` ԱԺ նախագահը հույս հայտնեց, որ դեսպանն իր կարեւոր ներդրումը կբերի հայ-շվեդական փոխգործակցության ընդարձակման գործում:

Նշելով, որ Հայաստանի համար առանցքային նշանակություն ունեն ժողովրդավարությունը, օրենքի գերակայությունը, կոռուպցիայի դեմ պայքարը՝ Արարատ Միրզոյանը կարեւորեց այդ ոլորտների բարեփոխումներում Շվեդիայի շարունակական աջակցությունը, ինչպես նաեւ՝ օժանդակությունը ՄԱԿ-ի Զարգացման ծրագրի «Ժամանակակից խորհրդարան՝ ժամանակակից Հայաստանի համար» ծրագրի իրականացման գործում:

Արցախի դեմ Ադրբեջանի սանձազերծած պատերազմի հետեւանքով առաջացած մարդասիրական խնդիրների լուծման շրջանակում խորհրդարանի խոսնակը բարձրացրեց հայ ռազմագերիների եւ գերեվարված անձանց արագ վերադարձի հարցը: Այս տեսանկյունից նա ընդգծեց միջազգային հանրության գործուն քայլերը:

Պատրիկ Սվենսոնն իր հերթին շեշտեց, որ Շվեդիան կարեւորում է Հայաստանի հետ տարբեր ոլորտներում համագործակցության ընդլայնումը, իրականացվող բարեփոխումներին իր երկրի աջակցությունը: Նա առանձնացրեց Հայաստանի հետ համագործակցության ուղղությունները՝ ժողովրդավարություն, մարդու իրավունքներ, շուկայական տնտեսություն, շրջակա միջավայր:

Անդրադառնալով Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հիմնախնդրին՝ դեսպանը կարեւորեց այս հարցում ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահության աշխատանքը: «Շվեդիան նախագահում է ԵԱՀԿ-ում եւ կուզենար հասկանալ, թե ինչպես կարող է նպաստել նման հակամարտությունների լուծմանը»,- ասաց դեսպանը: Նա եւս միջազգային մարդասիրական իրավունքի տեսանկյունից անհրաժեշտ համարեց գերեվարված անձանց վերադարձի հարցը:

Անդրադարձ կատարվեց սույն թվականի մարտի 1-ից ՀՀ - ԵՄ «Համապարփակ եւ ընդլայնված գործընկերության» համաձայնագրի ամբողջական գործարկմանը, ինչը, ըստ դեսպանի, ՀՀ-ԵՄ հարաբերություններին նոր որակ կհաղորդի:

Հանդիպման ընթացքում հանգամանալից քննարկվեցին զարգացման հեռանկարները, կարեւորվեց միջխորհրդարանական շփումների ակտիվացումը նաեւ բարեկամական խմբերի մակարդակում, գործարար կապերի ընդլայնումը:

Դեսպանի խնդրանքով Արարատ Միրզոյանը ներկայացրեց մեր երկրում իրականացվող բարեփոխումների օրակարգը:
