«Հրապարակ» թերթը գրում է.

Անցյալ տարվա դեկտեմբերի 24-ին հաղորդագրություն տարածվեց, որ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը հանդիպել է նախագահ Արմեն Սարգսյանի հետ։ Այս լուրը տարակուսանքի տեղիք տվեց, քանզի ընդամենը մեկ ամիս առաջ նույն Արմեն Սարգսյանը հայտարարել էր, որ պահանջում է կառավարության ու վարչապետի հրաժարականը։ Մենք տեղեկացանք, որ Նիկոլ Փաշինյան-Արմեն Սարգսյան հանդիպումը, իրականում, այնքան էլ բարիդրացիական մթնոլորտում չի անցել։ Մեզ ասացին՝ հանդիպման նախաձեռնությունը եղել է Փաշինյանինը, նա է խնդրել նախագահին՝ հանդիպել իր հետ եւ քննարկել երկրում ստեղծված իրավիճակը։

Ուշագրավ է, որ անցյալում ճիշտ հակառակ իրավիճակն էր․ Փաշինյանն ուղղակի բոյկոտում էր Արմեն Սարգսյանին՝ չէր հրավիրում Անվտանգության խորհրդի նիստերին եւ շատ հազվադեպ էր արժանացնում իր հյուրընկալությանը։ Այս հանդիպումը տեղի է ունեցել չեզոք գոտում, այսինքն՝  Արմեն Սարգսյանը Փաշինյանին չի ընդունել նախագահականում, կառավարություն էլ չի գնացել։

Հանդիպումը տեւել է բավականին կարճ՝ մոտ 30 րոպե, եւ ավարտվել է թեյախմությամբ, քանզի նախագահը մերժել է Փաշինյանի՝ միասին ընթրելու առաջարկը։ Բովանդակային առումով լուրջ քննարկում տեղի չի ունեցել, ըստ մեր աղբյուրի, նախագահը կրկին խոսել է այն մասին, որ միակ ելքը Փաշինյանի հրաժարականն է ու նոր՝ ազգային համաձայնության ժամանակավոր կառավարության ձեւավորումը։
