«Հիշու՞մ եք հայկական բանակի այս սպային` Ցոլակ Խաչատրյանն է:
Մի քանի ամիս առաջ իր մասին գրառում էի արել, ինչպես նաև պետական մակարդակով հանցագործ անարդարությունների մասին` այն մասին, որ մեր բանակի սպաներին չեն վճարվում իրենց հասանելիք արձակուրդայինները:
 
Ցոլակ Խաչատրյանը դատարանով շահել էր գործը, սակայն նախկին նախարար Դավիթ Տոնոյանը լկտի ցինիզմով չտեսնելու էր տալիս դատարանի վճիռը, ինչ ցինիզմով խոսում էր ԱԹՍ-ների անօգտակարության մասին:
Տեսնելով, որ անգամ դատարանի օրինական վճիռը չի կատարվում, Ցոլակ Խաչատրյանը որոշեց դիմել հացադուլի:
Բայց չհասցրեց...
Սկսվեց պատերազմը, Ցոլակը կամավորագրվեց ու գնաց ամենաթեժ հատվածը` Ջաբրայիլ:
 
Մի քանի օրից տնեցիները Ցոլակից այլևս լուր չունեցան:
Ցոլակի մարմինը գտան միայն վերջերս` որոնողական աշխատանքների արդյունքում...
Ցոլակը զոհվեց... չնայած այն բանին, որ նույն պետությունը խաչ էր քաշել նրա տարիների ծառայության վրա ու մինչև վերջ նրան չգնահատեց ու փորձեց «գցել», Ցոլակը նույն պետության առաջին իսկ կանչով գնաց...
 
Բայց չէ, սխալ եմ ասում, պետության չէ, հայրենիքի կանչով...
Մնացին նրա այրին ու երեխաները... ու տարիների անձնվեր ծառայության չմարված պարտքը...
 
Նիկոլ Փաշինյան, լավ մարսեցի՞ք էդ հիմնադրամի փողերը, երեսփոխաններդ, հետույքաբաններդ հո դժգոհ չմնացի՞ն բաժանածդ փողերից..»։
