Միացյալ Նահանգների առաջատար զանգվածային լրատվամիջոցների գնահատումներով՝ ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ ընտրված դեմոկրատ Ջոզեֆ Բայդեը հավաստել է ապագա վարչակազմի պատրաստակամությունն աշխատելու Միացյալ Նահանգներին Իրանի միջուկային ծրագրի շուրջը Գործողությունների համատեղ համապարփակ պլանի (ԳՀՀՊ) մասնակիցների կազմ վերադարձնելու նպատակով:

 

Քաղաքական գործիչը համապատասխան հայտարարությունն արել դեկտեմբերի 2-ին The New York Times թերթի կայքում: Հրատարակության լրագրողը դեմոկրատից հետաքրքրվել է, թե նա հավատարիմ է մնացել արդյոք իր այն դիրքորոշմանը, թե ԱՄՆ-ը պետք է վերադառնա Իրանի հետ միջուկային գործարքի մասնակցությանը, ինչի մասին քաղաքական գործիչն ինքը հայտարարել է ավելի վաղ:

 

«Դա հեշտ չի լինի, բայց այո»,- պատասխանել է Բայդենը: Նրա խոսքով՝ ապագա վարչակազմը մտադիր է «դաշնակիցների եւ գործընկերների հետ» համագործակցությամբ «մասնակցել բանակցություններին եւ մշակել լրացուցիչ համաձայնագրեր, որոնք կամրապնդեն եւ կերկարաձգեն իրանական միջուկային ծրագրի նկատմամբ սահմանափակումների գործողությունը, ինչպես նաեւ կվերաբերեն Թեհրանի հրթիռային ծրագրին»:

 

Քաղաքական գործիչն ընդգծել է, որ համաձայնագրի գործելը, որը կվերահսկի Թեհրանի միջուկային մշակումները, համարում է «տարածաշրջանում կայունության ապահովման լավագույն միջոցը»: Հակառակ դեպքում, կարծում է Բայդենը, հարկ է զգուշանալ այն իրավիճակից, որի դեպքում միջուկային զենքի մշակման կձգտեն Սաուդյան Արաբիան, Թուրքիան, Եգիպտոսը եւ տարածաշրջանի այլ երկրներ: «Միջուկային ներուժի կուտակումն աշխարհի այդ մասում վերջին բանն է, որը մենք ցանկանում ենք»,- ընդգծել է քաղաքական գործիչը: Ավելի վաղ Բայդենը բազմիցս հայտարարել է, որ ԱՄՆ-ում նախագահական ընտրություններում հաղթանակի դեպքում պլանավորում է Միացյալ Նահանգներին վերադարձնել ԳՀՀՊ-ի մասնակցությանը, հաղորդել է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
