«Իրատես» թերթը գրում է. «Կապիտուլյացիայի խայտառակ հայտարարության ամենաթերի կամ բաց կողմերից մեկն էլ այն է, որ դրանում որևէ խոսք չկա ռազմագերիների վերադարձի մասին: Մինչ վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը տարված է «Իմ մեղքը» պատումների շարք գրելով, հայ գերիների հետվերադարձի հարցը գնալով ավելի է բարդանում: Ըստ տարբեր աղբյուրների՝ հայ գերիների թիվը հասնում է 150-ի:
«Թեև Ադրբեջանը հայտարարում է, որ ընդամենը 5 հայ գերի կա իր մոտ, բայց միայն 49 գերու է հնարավոր եղել նույնականացնել տարբեր տեսանյութերի միջոցով, չնայած համոզված եմ, որ մեր գերիների թիվն անցնում է 150-ը: Ամեն բան պետք է անի իշխանությունը, որ կարողանա օր առաջ տուն վերադարձնել մեր տղաներին, բայց տեսնում ենք, որ նրանք այսօր բոլորովին այլ օրակարգեր են սպասարկում: Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը զբաղված է մեղավորներ փնտրելով, պաշտպանության նախարարության ծպտունն անգամ դուրս չի գալիս, իսկ արտաքին գործերի նախարարի համոզմամբ էլ՝ մեր դիվանագիտությունն ուղղակի փայլում է գրագետ աշխատանքով: Այսքանից հետո ի՞նչ ակնկալես իշխանության ներկայացուցիչներից: Հարցի լուծման մեկ տարբերակ կա՝ Փաշինյանը պետք է հեռանա, գա նոր բանակցող ու կարողանա այնպես անել, որ բոլոր գերիները վերադարձվեն», - «Իրատեսի» հետ զրույցում ասաց Ազգային ժողովի ընդդիմադիր պատգամավորներից մեկը:
Մեր զրուցակիցը նշեց նաև, որ Ադրբեջանում մենք ավելի շատ գերի ունենք, քան նրանք՝ Հայաստանում, բայց «դրական» կողմն այն է, որ Հայաստանում նաև սիրիացի ահաբեկիչներ կան: Թե դա ի՞նչ կարող է փոխել գերիների հնարավոր փոխանակման ժամանակ, պատգամավորը նորից արդյունավետ բանակցություններին հղում արեց. «Այս իշխանությունը չի կարող լուծել այդ հարցը, Փաշինյանը բանակցող չէ: Նրա համար գերիների հարցը 3-րդ, 4-րդական է, եթե այդպես չլիներ, հայտարարության մեջ դրա մասին որևէ հիշատակում կլիներ: Ի՞նչ է նա բանակցելու իր վրա ծիծաղող Ալիևի հետ, և, առհասարակ, պարտված ղեկավարն ի՞նչ երեսով է բանակցելու»»։
