Ինչո՞ւ պարտվեցինք,- դեռ երկար ժամանակ ենք այս հարցն ինքներս մեզ տալու և ամեն մեկը փորձելու է իր պատասխանով յուրովի արդարացնել այն, ինչը պետք է անեինք, բայց չենք արել: Իմ խորին համոզմամբ մենք չենք արել ամենապարզագույնը՝ չենք հարգել ինքներս մեզ ու այն ամենը, ինչին այս տարիների ընթացքում կարողացել ենք հասնել անդառնալի կորուստների և անհամար զրկանքների գնով...
Մեկս-մյուսով հզորանալու փոխարեն նախընտրել ենք մեկս-մյուսին թուլացնել, սիրելու փոխարեն ատել ենք միմյանց, մի քանի «պողոսով» մեզ դարձրել են «պողոսների» հոտ և քշել իրենց ուզած կածանով, իսկ երբ արդեն ուշքի ենք եկել, մեզ գտել ենք պարտության ճիրաններում... Բայց, անգամ այդ վիճակում, մենք շարունակել ենք մնալ «պողոսներին» ենթակա «պողոսների» հոտ, քանզի կորցրել ենք ոչ միայն ինքնրույն մտածելու կարողությունը, այլև զրկվել ենք դիմացի մտածողին լսելու ընդունակությունից...
Մենք լսել և շարունակում ենք հավատալ մի քանի «պողոսների» հնարած հեքիաթներին և մեր տունը կառուցելու փոխարեն անընդհատ՝ տեղին, թե անտեղի մատնացույց անում մեր կողքին կառուցողներին... Ու այդպես ծնվել է «թալանածը վերադարձնելու և ժողովրդին բաժանելու» մասին լեգենդը, որով «պողոսների» հոտը սնվել և սնվում է, իսկ մի քանի «պողոսներ» մտածելու ինքնրույնությունը կարցրած ամբոխին տարել և տանում են դեպի անորոշություն...
Պարտվեցինք, որովհետև կառուցված երկրի նորօրյա տեր «պողոսները» Հայրենիքը շփոթեցին մարդաբնակ հողակտորի հետ և այն միասնական ու շեն պահելու փոխարեն նախընտրեցին մասնատել: Հայրենիքի մի մասում ապրողն օտարացավ մյուս մասում ապրողից և արդյունքում ՀԱՅԸ դարձավ պառակտված, իսկ ԵՐԿԻՐԸ՝ կիսատ-պռատ... Ո՞ւր է մեզ տանելու մեր հետագա ճանապարհը և որտե՞ղ է հանգրվանելու յուրաքանչյուրիս խիղճը, դժվար է ասել: Բայց այն, որ մենք կանգնած ենք անորոշությունից անհայտություն տանող մեկ մատնաչափ տարածության վրա և դա ճակատագրական է, դժվարությամբ, սակայն, ուզում եմ չհավատալ...
