SOCIETYՓորձագիտական շրջանակները դեռևս չեն կարողանում հասկանալ՝ արդյոք Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում պատերազմում պատերազմին մասնակցած սիրիացի զինյալները կվերադառնան հայրենիք, թե որոշ ժամանակ շարունակելու են մնալ Հարավային Կովկասում: Այս խնդրով զբաղվող մասնագետները տարբեր տեսակետ են հայտնում:
Օրինակ, հետաքննող լրագրող Լինդսի Սնելի խոսքով, Ադրբեջանի իշխանությունները և նրանց թուրք դաշնակիցները առայժմ չեն շտապում հրաժարվել վարձկանների ծառայություններից։ «Սիրիական ազգային բանակին» մոտ կանգնած աղբյուրները պնդում են, որ սիրիացի [վարձկանները] դեռ Ադրբեջանում են։ Բացի այդ, լուրեր են պտտվում նոր զինյալներ ուղարկելու հնարավորության մասին։ Այդ խոսակցությունների համաձայն՝ սիրիացիները Ադրբեջանում պետք է որոշ օբյեկտներ հսկեն, ինչպես նաև երկարաժամկետ հեռանկարում օժանդակեն թուրքական ռազմակայանների գործունեությանը», – գրում է Սնելը։
Էլիզաբեթ Ցուրկովը եւս սիրիացի վարձկանների մասին մի շարք հրապարակումների հեղինակ է, նա նշում է, որ պատերազմի ավարտի մասին համաձայնագրի ստորագրումից հետո «Սիրիական ազգային բանակի» վարձկանների մի քանի խմբեր արդեն իսկ Թուրքիայի տարածքով վերադարձվել են Սիրիա»։ Ցուրկովը պնդում է, որ առաջիկա օրերին վարձկանների ևս մի քանի խմբեր կվերադառնան Սիրիայի հյուսիս։
Իսկ անցած շաբաթ Մեծ Բրիտանիայում գործող «Մարդու իրավունքների սիրիական կենտրոնը» ամփոփել է վարձկանների՝ Ղարաբաղյան պատերազմի մասնակցության ծավալները։ Կենտրոնի մասնագետները եզրակացրել են,որ սեպտեմբերի 27-ից նոյեմբերի 10-ը շարունակված պատերազմին հայկական ուժերի դեմ ընդհանուր առմամբ 2 հազար 580 սիրիացի զինյալ է կռվել։ Նրանցից առնվազն 293-ը զոհվել են, ևս 342 վարձկան ինչ-ինչ պատճառներով վաղաժամ խզել է պայմանագիրը՝ պատերազմական գործողությունների կեսից վերադառնալով Սիրիա։
