Սերբական Правда պարբերականn հրապարակել է արցախյան վերջին պատերազմում ադրբեջանական բանակի  առավելության վերաբերյալ «Ահա թե ինչու հայերը չկարողացան պաշտպանվել. ադրբեջանական բանակը ղեկավարում էին Էրդողանի 3 լավագույն գեներալները» վերտառությամբ հոդվածը, ըստ որի՝ ադրբեջանական բանակն ու ռազմական գործողությունները չէին ղեկավարվում ադրբեջանցի բարձրաստիճան սպաների կողմից: Սերբական աղբյուրի անդրադարձը ներկայացնում է Военное Обозрение կայքը:

Սերբ հեղինակների հոդվածում պնդվում է, որ Ադրբեջանի գլխավոր շտաբի ղեկավարությունը վերջերս «փոխվել է», որպեսզի դրա հիմքը կազմեն այն սպաները, ովքեր սովորել կամ վերապատրաստվել են Թուրքիայում:

Ավելի վաղ տարբեր աղբյուրներում նույնպես հայտնվել էին նյութեր, որոնցում նշվում էր, որ թուրք գեներալներն առնվազն վերջին դերը չեն խաղացել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում զինված գործողությունների մշակման և անցկացման գործում: Մասնավորապես, նշվում էր երկու անուն ՝ գեներալ Բախթիյար Էրսայ և գեներալ Գյոքսել Քահյա: Առաջինը 2003 թվականից հասցրել է թուրքական բանտ նստել, բայց հետո ազատ է արձակվել, իսկ 2016-ին ՝ Թուրքիայում հեղաշրջման փորձի ժամանակ, նա սատարել է ոչ թե փորձը կազմակերպողներին, այլ Էրդողանին:

Թուրք գեներալների՝ ադրբեջանական զորքերի կառավարման գործում մասնակցության վերաբերյալ պաշտոնական հաստատում չկա, և դժվար էլ լինի: Այնուամենայնիվ, ուշագրավ է այն, թե ինչպես են Շուշին գրավելուց հետո Ադրբեջանի ՊՆ կենտրոնական հրամանատարական կետում դիմավորել Թուրքիայի պաշտպանության նախարար Հուլուսի Աքարին: Աքարը զբաղեցրել է կենտրոնական տեղը, որտեղից շնորհավորել է հավաքված զինվորականներին հաղթանակի կապակցությամբ: Սա վկայում է վերջին տարիներին Ադրբեջանի և Թուրքիայի պաշտպանության նախարարությունների միջև փոխգործակցության առնվազն բարձր մակարդակի մասին:
