ԱՄՆ կոնգրեսական Ադամ Շիֆն ընդգծում է՝ Թուրքիայի և Ադրբեջանի նախագահները պետք է հասկանան, որ չեն կարող երկարատև վեճը լուծել քաղաքացիական բնակչության դեմ ուժի անխնա կիրառման ճանապարհով, իսկ ԱՄՆ-ն չպետք է անգործություն ցուցաբերի, երբ նրանք փորձում են անել դա: Ինչպես տեղեկացնում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, Ադամ Շիֆն այս մասին գրառում է կատարել «Ֆեյսբուք»-ի իր էջում:
«Մի քանի շաբաթվա ընթացքում՝ այն պահից, երբ առաջին ադրբեջանական ռումբերն ընկան Արցախի ժողովրդի վրա, հարյուրավոր մարդիկ սպանվեցին կամ վիրավորվեցին, իսկ հազարավոր մարդիկ ստիպված եղան լքել իրենց տները, քնել բաց երկնքի տակ ՝ անօդաչու թռչող սարքերի, հրետանու կամ ռումբերի վախից։ Պատմական եկեղեցին ու քաղաքները ռմբակոծությունների ու ավերածությունների են ենթարկվել: Չնայած այս ապօրինի պատերազմին՝ Արցախի ժողովուրդը դեռ ոտքի վրա է, Հայաստանը ոտքի վրա է: Եվ մենք շարունակելու ենք կանգնել նրանց հետ», -ասել է Շիֆը:
Կոնգրեսականի կարծիքով` այս պատերազմը միանգամից տեղի չի ունեցել: Դա արդյունք է այն բանի, որ Բաքվի կոռումպացված վարչակարգն իր ժողովրդին առաջարկում է բռնի էթնոնացիոնալիզմ ՝ խաղաղության, բարգավաճման և ազատության փոխարեն, որը նրանք չեն կարող ապահովել:
«Բայց սա նաև Ադրբեջանի և Թուրքիայի նկատմամբ Միացյալ Նահանգների վարած քաղաքականության արդյունքն է, որը տպավորիչ ձախողում է կրել»- նշել է Շիֆը:
Ըստ Շիֆի` չափազանց երկար ժամանակ Միացյալ Նահանգները հավասարության նշան է դնում Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև, այն դեպքում, երբ Ադրբեջանն անընդհատ հարձակվում է, իսկ Հայաստանն ու Արցախը պաշտպանում են իրենց բնակչության կյանքն ու տները:
«Այդ վեճի միակ լուծումը կարող են լինել բանակցությունները, այլ ոչ թե հրետանային ու ռումբային հրետակոծությունները խաղաղ հայերի վրա: ԱՄՆ-ն պետք է Արցախի երիտասարդ ժողովրդավարության կողքին կանգնի, այլ ոչ թե Ալիևի ավտորիտար ռեժիմի: Եվ եթե Թուրքիան ու Ադրբեջանը շահագրգռված չեն Արցախի հետ կապված բանակցությունների գնալ, ապա ժամանակն է, որ ԱՄՆ-ն Լեռնային Ղարաբաղը ճանաչի անկախ պետություն»,- եզրափակել է Շիֆը:
