ՀՀ ԱԺ եվրոպական ինտեգրման հարցերի մշտական հանձնաժողովը տարածել է Եվրոպական խորհրդարանի փոխնախագահ, ԵՄ-Հայաստան գործընկերության, ԵՄ-Ադրբեջան համագործակցության խորհրդարանական կոմիտեներում ԵՄ պատվիրակության անդամ Ֆաբիո Մասիմո Կաստալդոյի մամլո հաղորդագրությունը:

«Խստորեն դատապարտում եմ շարունակվող բռնությունները և, մասնավորապես, ադրբեջանական ուժերի կողմից Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի տարածաշրջանում իրականացվող ռազմական գործողությունները: Ռազմական ագրեսիայի անընդունելի օգտագործումը, որը բազմաթիվ զոհերի և վիրավորների է հանգեցրել նույնիսկ խաղաղ բնակչության շրջանում, արմատապես խաթարում է խաղաղության գործընթացի վերսկսման հնարավորությունը։ Սա միջազգային իրավունքի և ԵԱՀԿ շրջանակներում մինչ այժմ անցկացված երկխոսության կոպիտ խախտում է: Մենք կոչ ենք անում ներգրավված բոլոր կողմերին անհապաղ հետ քայլ կատարել. այս ռազմական էսկալացիան կարող է ապակայունացնել ամբողջ տարածաշրջանը:
Ես խորապես համոզված եմ, որ ԵՄ-ն պետք է իր ձայնը ուժգին բարձրացնի՝ գնահատելով նաև պատժամիջոցների դիմելու հնարավորությունը, ռազմական գործողությունների դադարեցման պահանջի մերժման դեպքում: Այդ իսկ պատճառով Եվրախորհրդարանի տարբեր պետությունների այլ գործընկերների հետ միասին, ես նամակ եմ ստորագրել ուղղված Արտաքին գործերի և անվտանգության քաղաքականության միության բարձր ներկայացուցիչ Ջոզեպ Բորելին, որով մենք հայցում ենք գործադրել բոլոր ջանքերը կրակի անհապաղ դադարեցման համար և գործարկել կրակի հնարավոր խախտումների մոնիթորինգի համար պարտադիր մեխանիզմներ, որպես արդյունավետ երկխոսության գործընթացի համար անհրաժեշտ վստահությունը վերականգնելու միակ միջոց: Բազմակողմանիության և խաղաղության եվրոպական արժեքները պետք է գերակշռեն», - հայտարարել է Ֆաբիո Մասսիմո Կաստալդոն, 5 աստղ շարժման եվրապատգամավոր, Եվրախորհրդարանի փոխնախագահ:
«Դատապարտելի է նաև նախագահ Էրդողանի ագրեսիվ հռետորաբանությունը և սատարումը Բաքվին. լրագրողական աղբյուրները հայտնում են Սիրիայի հյուսիսից Թուրքիայի կողմից մոբիլիզացված հազարավոր ջիհադիստ գրոհայինների մասնակցության մասին: Եթե այս լուրը հաստատվի, ապա այս միջամտությունը որքան մտահոգիչ է, այդքան էլ անընդունելի: Պահանջում ենք տարածաշրջանային բոլոր դերակատարներին չօգտագործել այս հակամարտությունը որպես պատրվակ ՝ իրենց ազդեցության ոլորտներն ընդլայնելու համար: Այս ողբերգությունում մենք չենք կարող լինել լոկ հանդիսատես. փոխարենը պետք է լինենք խաղաղարարներ և միջնորդ այս արյունալի հակամարտության մեջ, որը կրկին պայթել է ԵՄ սահմանների մոտ», - եզրափակում է Կաստալդոն:
