Սաուդյան Արաբիան ուրանի հանքաքարի բավարար պաշարներ ունի, որպեսզի սկսի ներքին միջուկային վառելիք արտադրել, գրում է Guardian-ը` վկայակոչելով չինացի երկրաբանների պատրաստած գաղտնի փաստաթղթերը:

Ըստ թերթի` երկրաբաններն օգնում են թագավորությանն ուրանի պաշարների քարտեզագրման մեջ` որպես իրենց միջուկային համագործակցության համաձայնագրի մաս: Նրանց ուսումնասիրությունների համաձայն` երկիրն ունի պաշարներ, որոնք թույլ կտան ավելի քան 90.000 տոննա ուրան դուրս բերել երկրի կենտրոնում եւ հյուսիս-արևմուտքում գտնվող երեք խոշոր հանքավայրերից:

Bloomberg News-ը հայտնել է, որ Ատոմային էներգիայի միջազգային գործակալությունը համագործակցում է Չինաստանի հետ կապված հաստատության հետ` սաուդցիների համար ուրան գտնելու եւ զարգացնելու նպատակով` չնայած այն հանգամանքին, որ ՄԱԿ-ի միջուկային անվտանգության տեսուչներին դեռ թույլ չեն տալիս գտնվել թագավորությունում:

ՄԱԳԱՏԷ-ն փաստաթուղթ էր հրապարակել, որում մանրամասնում է, թե ինչպես է այն օգնում թագավորությանը միջուկային էներգիայի եւ զենքի համար անհրաժեշտ միջուկային վառելիքի մշակման գործում:

Սաուդյան Արաբիան հայտարարել է, որ ցանկանում է ուրան մշակել խաղաղ օգտագործման համար, սակայն թագաժառանգ արքայազն Մոհամմադ բին Սալմանը հայտարարել էր, որ միջուկային զենք կմշակի, եթե Իրանն անի դա:

Անցյալ ամիս ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղար Մայք Պոմպեոն Սաուդյան Արաբիայի միջուկային զենքի տարածումն իսկական «ռիսկ» էր անվանել: «Մենք փորձում ենք նվազեցնել միջուկային զենքի տարածման ռիսկն ամբողջ աշխարհում` լինի դա Իրանը, Սաուդյան Արաբիան, Հյուսիսային Կորեան, թե Ռուսաստանը»,- ասել էր:
