Մոսկվան հույս ունի շուտով դեսպանություն բացել լիբիական Տրիպոլիում. դա տեղի կունենա անվտանգության հետ կապված բոլոր հարցերը կարգավորելուց հետո: Այդ մասին ՌԻԱ Նովոստիին տված հարցազրույցում հայտարարել Է Ռուսաստանի ԱԳ նախարար Սերգեյ Լավրովը:
ՌԴ-ի դիվանագիտական ներկայացուցչությունը Լիբիայի մայրաքաղաքից տարհանվել Էր 2014 թվականի օգոստոսին՝ երկրում իրադրությունը սրվելու առնչությամբ: 2018 թվականի նոյեմբերին ՌԴ նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինը պարտականություններից ազատել Էր Լիբիայում ՌԴ արտակարգ եւ լիազոր դեսպան Իվան Մոլոտկովին:
2020 թվականի հուլիսին Լավրովը հայտարարել Է, որ Ռուսաստանը կվերսկսի դեսպանության աշխատանքը Լիբիայում, որը կներկայացնի ՌԴ-ի շահերը երկրի ամբողջ տարածքում, բայց այն դեռ բազավորվելու Է Թունիսում:
«Մեր դեսպանությունը կվերադառնա Տրիպոլի, ես հուսով եմ՝ շուտով՝ հենց որ այնտեղ ապահովվի տարրական անվտանգությունը: Մի շարք դեսպանություններ այնտեղ գոյություն ունեն, աշխատում են առաջվա պես , բայց անվտանգությունը շատ ու շատ թույլ Է»,-հայտարարել Է Լավրովը:
2011 թվականին Լիբիայի ղեկավար Մուամար Քադաֆիի տապալումից եւ սպանությունից հետո Լիբիան փաստորեն դադարել Է գործել որպես միասնական պետություն: Այժմ երկրում երկիշխանություն Է: Արեւելքում նիստեր Է գումարում ժողովրդի կողմից ընտրված խորհրդարանը, իսկ արեւմուտքում՝ Տրիպոլի մայրաքաղաքում, կառավարում Է ՄԱԿ-ի եւ Եվրամիության աջակցությամբ ձեւավորված Ազգային համաձայնության կառավարությունը՝ Ֆայեզ Սարաջի գլխավորությամբ: Երկրի արեւելյան մասի իշխանությունները գործում են Տրիպոլիից անկախ եւ համագործակցում Լիբիայի ազգային բանակի (ԼԱԲ) հետ՝ մարշալ Խալիֆ Խաֆթարի հրամանատարությամբ, որը 2019 թվականի ապրիլից չի դադարում Տրիպոլին նվաճելու փորձերը:
