ECONOMICSRolls-Royce ընկերությունը հաջորդ տարվա կեսերին կփակի Կենտրոնական Վիրջինիայում ավիացիոն սարքավորումների արտադրման իր գործարանը՝ ազատելով 280 մարդու, հաղորդում է Associated Press-ը՝ հղում անելով ընկերության հայտարարությանը։
Գործարանի փակումը COVID-19-ի հետեւանքով է, հաղորդում է Richmond Times-Dispatch պարբերականը։
Ընկերությունն արդեն ազատել է աշխատանքից 120 մարդու հունիսին։
«COVID-19-ի համավարակն առաջացրել է պատմական կոլափս քաղավիացիայում, որը վերականգնելու համար կպահանջվեն տարիներ։ Դրա հետեւաանքով մենք ստիպված էինք դիմել բարդ, սակայն անհրաժեշտ որոշումների մեր բիզնեսի ապագան պաշտպանելու համար»,-նշվում է Հյուսիսային Ամերիկայում ընկերության ներկայացուցիչ Դոն Քեմփբելի հայտարարության մեջ։
Գործակալությունը նշում է, որ Հյուսիսային Ամերիկայում Rolls-Royce բրիտանական ընկերության գլխավոր գրասենյակը տեղակայված է Հյուսիսային Վիրջինիայում։
Գործարանը բացվել է 2011 թվականին։ Գործարանի փակման մասին աշխատակիցներին հայտնել են ուրբաթ, եւ դա կարող է աղետալի ազդեցություն թողնել նահանգի տնտեսության վրա։
