Ռեզուս բացասական արյուն ունեցող մարդիկ ավելի հաճախ են վարակվում COVID-19-ով եւ ավելի ծանր են տանում հիվանդությունը: Նման եզրակացության են հանգել օտարերկրյա գիտնականները` նախնական փուլերում տարբեր երկրներում կորոնավիրուսով վարակման դեպքերի վերլուծությունից հետո: Վաղ ուսումնասիրություններում ապացուցվում էր, որ ռեզուս բացասական արյուն ունեցող մարդկանց մոտ սրտանոթային, շնչառական եւ իմունային հիվանդությունների զարգացման ռիսկն ավելի մեծ է: Հենց այդ պաթոլոգիաներն են հաճախ ուղեկցում COVID-19-ը, գրում է «Իզվեստիա»-ն:

Բարսելոնայի (Իսպանիա) եւ Կամպինասի (Բրազիլիա) համալսարանների գիտնականներն ուսումնասիրել են այն գործոնները, որոնք COVID-19-ի արագ տարածման են հանգեցրել 126 երկրում: Որպես ելակետ` հետազոտողները վերցրել են այն օրը, երբ յուրաքանչյուր երկրում վարակման 30 դեպք է գրանցվել, եւ հետեւել են, թե ինչ է տեղի ունեցել առաջիկա 12 օրվա ընթացքում: Նրանք վերլուծել են նախնական գործոնների ազդեցությունն իրավիճակի զարգացման վրա` առանց հաշվի առնելու համավարակի կանխարգելման համար պետությունների ձեռնարկած միջոցները:

Մասնավորապես, հետազոտողները եզրակացրել են, որ վարակների թվի էքսպոնենտալ աճը բնորոշ է այն երկրներին, որտեղ մեծ թվով ռեզուս-բացասական արյունով բնակիչներ կան:
