Հայաստանում այսօր՝ դեկտեմբերի 6-ին, ժամը 20։00-ին փակվել են 1997 ընտրատեղամասերի դռները, քվեարկությունն ավարտվել է եւ քիչ հետո սկսվելու է քվեաթերթիկների հաշվարկը:
Ժամը 17-ի դրությամբ քավեարկությանը մասնակցել էր 1 մլն 5 հազար 333 քաղաքացի, որոնցից Երեւանում՝ 305368 քաղաքացի:
Ընտրությունների մասնակիցների նախնական տվյալները հայտնի կլինեն ժամը 21-ից հետո:
Ոստիկանության տվյալներով, ընտրացուցակներում ընտրողների թիվը 2 մլն 550 հազար 323 մարդ է:
Սահմանադրական փոփոխությունների հանրաքվեն դիտարկելու են 18 տեղական եւ չորս միջազգային կազմակերպություններ, մասնավորապես, ԱՊՀ դիտորդական առաքելությունը (44 դիտորդ), ԱՊՀ միջխորհրդարանական վեհաժողովը (23 դիտորդ), ԵԽԽՎ-ն (11 դիտորդ), ԵԱՀԿ/ԺՀՄԻԳ-ը (5 դիտորդ)։ 33 դիտորդներ կլինեն օտարերկրյա ԿԸՀ-ների կողմից, եւ 7 դիտորդ՝ Հայաստանում հավատարմագրված դեսպանություններից։
Նշենք, որ Հայաստանի Հանրապետության անկախությունից հետո առաջին Սահմանադրությունն ընդունվել է 1995թ. հուլիսի 5-ին, որը ամեն տարի նշվում է որպես Սահմանադրության օր: Սահմանադրությունը փոփոխվել է 2005թ. եւ նախագահական կառավարման համակարգը փոխարինվել է կիսանախագահականով: Այժմ հանրաքվեի դրված նախագծով երկիրն անցում է կատարում կառավարման խորհրդարանական համակարգի:
