1-12-րդ դասարանների «Ֆիզիկական կուլտուրա» ուսումնական առարկայի հիմնական նպատակն է` առողջ, համակողմանի զարգացած, աշխատանքային գործունեությանը պատրաստ, սեփական ուժերի հանդեպ վստահ, առողջ և անվտանգ կենսակերպ դրսևորող, արտակարգ իրավիճակներում կողմնորոշվող ու նախաձեռնող քաղաքացի ձևավորելը։ Առարկայի հիմնական նոր օրինակելի ծրագիրը նախատեսում է ֆիզիկական կուլտուրայի ուսուցչի գործունեության ազատություն, որը ենթադրում է հաշվի առնել դպրոցականների մարզական ցանկությունները:

Հատկապես 8-րդ դասարանից սկսած կարևոր է, որպեսզի ուսուցիչը ֆիզիկական դաստիարակության գործընթացում մշտապես հաշվի առնի դպրոցականների մարզական նախընտրությունները` չսահմանափակվելով ծրագրում նշված մարզաձևերով: Այդ դեպքում ուսուցիչը հնարավորություն ունի մարզման ձևն ու ժամաբաշխումն իրականացնել ըստ անհրաժեշտության՝ ապահովվելով վերջնարդյունքները: Թիմի լիարժեք անդամ զգալու նպատակով առողջական որոշակի առանձնահատկություններ ունեցող երեխաներին, ում համար անհնար կամ բարդ է լիարժեք մասնակցել ֆիզիկական կուլտուրայի դասերին, նույնպես պետք է ներառել խմբերում որպես օժանդակ աշխատանք կատարողներ: Կարևոր է, որ նման երեխաները ևս ունենան հնարավորություն ճանաչելու սեփական ֆիզիկական կարողությունները և դրանց համապատասխան զարգացնելու իրենց շարժողական ընդունակությունները: Ուսումնական գործունեության տեսակները. ֆիզիկական դաստիարակության վերաբերյալ տեսական գիտելիքների հաղորդում զրույցի և պատմելու միջոցով, ուսումնական նյութի բացատրում, ցուցումներ, հրահանգներ: Վարժությունների ցուցադրում, պաստառների, ֆիլմերի ցուցադրում, գործնական պարապմունքներ` խմբային, ճակատային, անհատական, հոսքային, հերթափոխային և շրջանաձև մեթոդներով:
