«Լսեցի Ալենի բանակային պատմությունը։ Որքան հասկացա, ծառայել է Հոկտեմբերյանի (հիմա՝ Արմավիրի) «ուչեբկայում»։ Նույն զորամասում ես էլ եմ ծառայել, բայց սովետական բանակում։ 1982թ․ համալսարանն ավարտելուց հետո ողջ կուրսով այնտեղ եռամսյա դասընթաց անցանք, որից հետո ստացանք լեյտենանտի կոչում։
Ալենը ճիշտ է ասում, պայմանները սարսափելի էին, հիշում են անտանելի շոգը, ստվերը անապատում ականգնած երկու ծառից էր, որի ճյուրն էլ պոկեցինք ավել սարքելու համար։ Մեր կոմբատը բացատրում էր ուսումնական զորամասի այդ պայմանները նրան համար են, որ տալիս էին էքստրեմալ պայմաններում պատերազմելու ունակություններ, եւ զարմանալի չէ, որ այնտեղ էին մարզվում նաեւ Աֆղանստան գնացողները, նաեւ հիշում եմ նրա տափակ աֆորիզմը՝ «тяжело в учении, легко в бою».
Սակայն ճիշտն ասած իմ մոտ ավելի տպավորվել է ոչ թե սովը, այլ թե ինչպես սովխոզի բաղերից սեխ գողացանք ու փախանք պահակից, ինչպես էինք 120 տղայով մի փոքրիկ հեռուստացույցով նայում ֆուտբոլի առաջնության եզրափակիչ խաղերը, ինչպես էին ոգեւորվում Ռումենիգեի տաղանդով ու Ռոսսիի գոլերով։
Չգիտեմ, միգուցե նրանից է, որ ես կարճ եմ ծառայել այնտեղ, իսկ միգուցե ՔՊ-ում ամենակարեւոր կատեգորիան ուտելն է, բայց այս ամենը Ստեփանակերտի հակաօդային պաշտպանության հետ կապ չունի»։
