Ոմանք առանց դարչինի չեն պատկերացնում թխվածքները, թեյը, աղանդերները: Սակայն դարչինի մշտապես օգտագործումը կարող է լուրջ վնաս հասցնել օրգանիզմին:
Չնայած իր օգտակար հատկություններին, դարչինը կարող է չափազանց վատ ազդեցություն գործել օրգանիզմի վրա: Հատկապես, ապագա մայրիկները հղիության ընացքում պետք է սահմանափակեն դարչինի օգտագործումը:
Դարչինը կարող է խնդիրներ առաջացնել արյան մեջ շաքարի մակարդակի հետ, ինչպես նաև արագացնել արյան հոսքը: Բանն այն է, որ դարչինը ջրիկացնում է արյունը և եթե հղիության ընթացքում չափից շատ դարչին է օգտագործվում, ապա դա կարող է արյունահոսություն առաջացնել:
Միայն հղիները չեն, որ պետք է զգուշանան դարչինի չափից շատ օգատգործումից: Դարչինը պարունակում է մեծ քանակությամբ կումարին, և այդ նյութի մեծ կոնցենտրացիան կարող է հանգեցնել լյարդի աշխատանքի խանգարմանը, կարող է առաջացնել լյարդի ինֆեկցիա:
Դարչինը կարող է նաև քաղցկեղային գոյացությունների առաջացման պատճառ դառնալ: Կումարինի մեծ քանակությունը կարող է թոքերում ուռոցքների առաջացման պատճառ դառնալ:
Այնուամենայնիվ, որքան էլ հաճելի լինի այդ համեմունքի համը, այնուամենայնիվ առողջությունը չարժի վտանգել:
