Հնդկաձավարը պարունակում է ռեկորդային մեծ քանակությամբ սպիտակուցներ, որոնք հեշտությամբ յուրացվում են մարսողական համակարգի կողմից: Հենց այդ  պատճառով էլ հնդկաձավարը շատ են օգտագործում պահքի շրջանում:
