Չորեքշաբթի Վանուատուի մերձափին Խաղաղ օվկիանոսում տեղի է ունեցել 6,1 մագնիտուդով երկրաշարժ: Այս մասին հայտնել է ԱՄՆ Երկրաբանական ծառայությունը, փոխանցում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:

Էպիկենտրոնը տեղակայված է պետության մայրաքաղաք Պորտ Վիլայից ավելի քան 500 կմ հյուսիս-արեւմուտք, որտեղ բնակվում է մոտ 36 հազար մարդ: Օջախը գտնվում էր 170 կմ խորության վրա:
