Դիարբեքիրի Սուրի շրջանում մամուլի ասուլիսից հետո լրագրողների աչքի առաջ Դիարբեքիրի փաստաբանների միության քուրդ նախագահ Թահիր Էլչիի սպանությունը դատապարտել են Հոպայում (Խոպա)։
Թուրքական BirGun-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ Հոպայում հավաքված հարյուրավոր քաղաքացիները ի նշան Թահիր Էլչիի սպանության դեմ բողոքի, երթ են իրականացրել՝ պահելով տարբեր կարգախոսներով պաստառներով։ Գլխավոր պաստառի վրա գրված է եղել․ «Պալատին (Էրդողանին անվանելու տարբերակ) իր թափած արյան մեջ ենք խեղդելու»։
Խմբի անունից ելույթ է ունեցել Քամիլ Ուսթաբաշը՝ շեշտելով, թե իրենք չեն վախենում Էրդողանի ստեղծած ֆաշիստական մթնոլորտից ու ճնշումներից։
Նշենք, որ Հոպան Թուրքիայի միակ բնակավայրն է եղել, որտեղ Էրդողանը չի կարողացել քարոզարշավ իրականացնի, քանի որ քաղաքացիները նրան քարկոծել ու վռնդել են։
Հոպայի բնակչության գերակշիռ մասը, այդ թվում քաղաքապետը, համշենահայեր են, ովքեր խոսում են հայերենի բարբառ համարվող համշենահայերենով։
