Մետաղե թագ-խցան. փրկություն գազավորված ըմպելիքների համար

Ժամանակին գազավորված ըմպելիքների մեծ պահանջարկը անհրաժեշտություն է առաջացրել դրանք շշալցնել և պահել փոքր տարողություններում: Ապակե շշերն էլ հենց դարձել են նման ըմպելիքների տարաներ: 

Այնուամենայնիվ, ապակե շշերով ըմպելիքների պահեստավորման հետ կապված խնդիրներ են առաջացել, քանի որ չեն եղել այնպիսի խցաններ, որոնք կարող են հուսալիորեն հերմետիկ պահել ածխաթթու գազը շշի մեջ:

 Որոշ խցաններ ոչ հերմետիկ են նստում շշի պարանոցին, իսկ որոշներն էլ իրենց հոտով կամ մասնիկներով փչացնում են գազավորված ըմպելիքի համը և տեսքը: 

Այս խնդիրը կարողացել է լուծել Մերիլենդ նահանգի բնակիչ ամերիկացի Ուիլյամ Պայտները, որը 1892 թվականին արտոնագրել է թագի տեսքով իր ստեղծած խցանը, և այն կոչել են թագ-խցան: 

Այդ եզակի մետաղական ծածկոցները նախատեսված են եղել շշերի բացվածքների հերմետիկ փակման համար: Դրանք պատրաստման տեսակետից ստացվել են բավականին պարզ և էժան: 

Ավելի հերմետիկ փակելու և շշի ներսի ածխաթթու գազի արտահոսքը կանխելու համար խցանի ներքին մակերևույթին տեղադրվել է հատուկ նյութից պատրաստված բարակ կլոր ներդիր: Այն ունեցել է կարևոր գործառույթ՝ կանխել գազավորված հեղուկի և խցանի նյութի անմիջական շփումը, որը միևնույն ժամանակ ապահովել է խմիչքի համի և որակի անփոփոխությունը: Խցանի  մետաղական ծալ քավորված արտաքին եզրն էլ ապահովել է շշի առավել հարմարավետ բացելը բացիչի օգնությամբ: 

Սկզբում սովորական թագ-խցան պատրաստելու համար օգտագործվել է թերթային պողպատ, որի մեկ կամ երկու կողմն էլ լաքապատվել է: 

Իսկ որպես ներդիր օգտագործվել են խցանափայտ կամ ստվարաթուղթ: Ուիլյամը մեծ ջանքեր է գործադրել, որպեսզի համոզի շշեր արտադրողներին՝ արտադրել այնպիսի բացվածքներով շշեր, որոնք հարմարեցված են թագ-խցանների համար: 

Դա պայմանավորված է եղել որոշակի ֆինանսական ծախսերով և տեխնոլոգիական դժվարություններով: Այնուամենայնիվ, նրա գյուտի ներդրման առավելությունները գերակշռել են հնարավոր ռիսկերը և ծախսերը, քանի որ նոր խցանների տեխնոլոգիական նորարարությունները հնարավորություն են տվել սպառողներին օգտագործել առավելագույն հարմարավետ շշալցված գազավորված ըմպելիքներ: 

Թագ-խցանը մինչ օրս էլ գոյություն ունի գրեթե անփոփոխ տեսքով: Ժամանակակից խցանների տարբերությունը այն ժամանակվա խցաններից միայն այն է, որ խցանի եզրագծի ատամիկները պակասել են 3 -ով և նախկին 21-ի փոխարեն 18-ն են, իսկ ստվարաթղթե և խցանափայտե ներդիրները դարձել են պոլիմերային:

 Ներկայումս էլ թագ-խցանը մեծ տարածում ունի: Դա է վկայում այն փաստը, որ գազավորված ըմպելիքների, ինչպես նաև գարեջրի գրեթե բոլոր արտադրողները հիմա էլ օգտագործում են նման խցաններ:
