Ձեռքի վնասվածքի պատճառով չկարողացա մասնակցել եզրափակիչին. մարզիչս թույլ չտվեց:

Այս մասին NEWS.am Sport-ի թղթակցի հետ զրույցում Իսրայելից ասաց ձյուդոյի Եվրոպայի չեմպիոն Ֆերդինանդ Կարապետյանը, որը Թել Ավիվում անցկացվող ձյուդոյի Գրան պրի մրցաշարում դարձավ արծաթե մեդալակիր։ 73 կգ քաշայինների եզրափակիչ գոտեմարտին Ֆերդինանդ Կարապետյանը չներկայացավ։ Հաղթանակը շնորհվեց Ռիոյի օլիմպիական չեմպիոն, իտալացի Ֆաբիո Բասիլեին։

«Կիսաեզրափակիչի հենց սկզբում ձեռքի վնասվածք ստացա, կոտրեցի ձախ ձեռքիս ցուցամատը: Մինչեւ վերջ պայքարեցի եւ հաղթեցի կոտրվածքով: Պատրաստ էի այդպես պայքարի դուրս գալ նաեւ եզրափակիչում, բայց մարզիչս թույլ չտվեց: Մատս ամբողջությամբ այտուցվել է եւ կորացել: Կիսաեզրափակիչում չէի զգում ցավը, քանի որ ցանկությունս միայն հաղթելն էր: Ես պատրաստ էի նաեւ եզրափակիչին. երբ շատ ես ուզում հաղթել, նույնիսկ առանց մատի կհաղթես»,- ասաց Ֆերդինանդ Կարապետյանը, որը զրույցի պահին գտնվում էր հիվանդանոցում:

Ֆերդինանդ Կարապետյանի հետ Թել Ավիվում է գտնվում ձյուդոյի Հայաստանի հավաքականի գլխավոր մարզիչ Հովհաննես Դավթյանը:

Գրան պրի մրցաշարում Կարապետյանը մեկնարկում հաղթել էր չեխ Յակուբ Եչմինեկին։ Երկրորդ շրջանում հայ մարզիկը պարտության էր մատնել ալբանացի Մարկո Մադալոնիին, երրորդ շրջանում՝ ղազախ Սերիկ Ակիլբեկին։ Քառորդ եզրափակիչում Ֆերդինանդ Կարապետյանը հաղթել էր շվեդ Թոմի Մացիասին, իսկ կիսաեզրափակիչում՝ իսպանացի Սալվադոր Կասես Ռոկային։ Մրցաշարն օլիմպիական վարկանիշային է։
