«2014թ.-ի հունվարի 19-ի լույս 20-ի գիշեր... Թշնամին նպատակ էր դրել առավելագույնը գրավել հայկական մեկ մարտական դիրք, իսկ նվազագույնը՝ սպանել մարտական հերթապահությունից հանգստացող մարտական դիրքի բոլոր զինվորներին...
Հունվարի 19-ի , ժամը 23:30-ի սահմաններում դիրքի շունը սկսում է անկանոն այս ու այն կողմ վազել, դա նկատում է դիրքի ավագ Արմեն Հովհաննսիյանը, փորձում է հանգստացնել շանը, միաժամանակ մթության մեջ ուշի ուշով զննելով շրջապատը...
Մոտ 15 րոպեից դիրք ներխուժած մեծաքանակ դիվերսիոն խումբը շան վրա կրակելով առաջ է շարժվում՝ դեպի մարտական կացարն, որտեղ հանգստանում էին մարտական հերթապահությունը հանձնած դիրքապահ տղերքը: Սակայն փորձառու դիվերսիոն խումբն անակնկալ հայտնվում է Արմենի թիրախում և սկսվում է մերձամարտ, ընդամենը 10-15 մետր հեռավորությունից սկսվում են կրակոցները: Արմենը ծանր վիրավորվում է, սակայն չի ընկրկում, և փորձում է կրակը վերցնել իր վրա, այդպիսով ընկերներին ժամանակ տալով դիրքավորվել և հետ մղել թշնամուն: Դիվերսիոն խումբը, տեսնելով, որ այլևս չի կարողանում դիմադրել, Արմենի և մարտական կացարանի ճաշարանի ուղղությամբ օգտագործում է բեկորային զինատեսակ, մտածելով, որ ճաշարանը մարտական կացարանն է, քանի որ այնտեղ լույս էր վառվում...

Արմենի այս սխրագործության մասին անձամբ լսել եմ իր ծառայակից ընկերներից և հրամանատարներից, ովքեր Արմենի մասին խոսում էին խորը ակնածանքով ու երախտիքով... Այսօր Արմենի դիրքում իր հիշատակին խաչքար է կանգնեցված, իսկ այն վայրը, որտեղից կրակ է վարել և արիաբար զոհվել , չի ենթարկվել ոչ մի փոփոխության, անգամ մարտական կացարանի պատերին առկա հետքերը չի վերացվել, ի նշան երախտիքի... Հավերժ փառք քեզ անմահ ՀԵՐՈՍ Արմեն...»։
