Չմուշկներ՝ կենդանիների ոսկորներից մինչև մետաղական շեղբեր

Չմուշկները մետաղյա շեղբեր են, որոնք ամրացված են կոշիկի ներբանին և օգտագործվում են սառույցի մակերեսով սահելու միջոցով այն կրողին առաջ մղելու համար: Արդեն հազարամյակներ են անցել այն ժամանակից, երբ մարդը առաջին անգամ կանգնեց չմուշկների վրա: 

Ընդ որում, դա ավելի շուտ է եղել, քան հայտնագործվել է անիվային չմուշկը: Առաջին չմուշկները պատրաստվել են ձիու, եզան կամ եղջերուի ոտքի ոսկորներից և ոտքերին ամրացվել են կաշվե փոկերով: 

Նման «ոսկրե» չմուշկներ հայտնաբերվել են Բավարիայի, Շվեյցարիայի, Հոլանդիայի, նախկին ԽՍՀՄ-ի որոշ երկրների, Բոհեմայի, Դանիայի, Անգլիայի և Նորվեգիայի տարածքներում կատարված հնէաբանական պեղումների ժամանակ: 

Չմուշկները մարդու կողմից հայտնագործված ամենահին իրերից են: Դրանք մարդկանց հնարավորություն են տվել ձմռանը արագորեն տեղաշարժվել սառույցի վրայով: 

Օքսֆորդի համալսարանից Ֆեդերիկո Ֆորմենտիի, Միլանի համալսարանից Ալբերտո Մինեթիի կողմից կատարված ուսումնասիրության համաձայն, 5000 տարի առաջ առաջինը ֆիններն են կենդանու ոսկորներից չմուշկներ պատրաստել: 

Ֆինն բնակչության համար ձկնորսությամբ զբաղվելիս կարևոր էր դաժան ձմեռային պայմաններում խնայել էներգիան: 1967 թվականին Օդեսայից ոչ հեռու գտնվող Հարավային Բուգա տարածքում պեղվել են ներկայումս հայտնի ամենահին չմուշկները: Հնէաբանները այդ գտածոն համարում են մոտ 3200 տարի առաջ այդ տարածքում ապրած քոչվոր քիմմերացիների ստեղծածը: 

Դրանք պատրաստված են եղել ընտանի կենդանիների ոսկորներից, որոնք մի կողմից սրված են եղել, իսկ մյուս կողմից ունեցել են անցքեր՝ փոկերով ոտքին ամրացնելու համար: 

Մետաղյա շեղբեր ունեցող հայտնի ամենահին չմուշկը հայտնաբերվել է Սկանդինավիայում և թվագրվում է մեր թվարկության 200 թվականով: Այն պատրաստվել է ծալված պղնձի բարակ շերտով և ամրացվել կաշվե կոշիկի ներքևի մասին: Չնայած դրան՝ ոսկրե չմուշկները գործածությունից դեռ շուտ դուրս չեն եկել: 

Օրինակ՝ 12-րդ դարի գրող Վիլ յամ Ֆիցստեֆենը նկարագրում է Լոնդոնում ոսկորներով չմուշկների օգտագործումը: Սկսած 14-րդ դարից՝ մարդիկ ստեղծել են փայտյա չմուշկներ, որոնց սահող մակերեսին ամրացված են հատուկ մետաղյա շերտեր: 

Սովորաբար որպես մետաղ օգտագործել են բրոնզը, երկաթը, իսկ ավելի ուշ՝ նաև պողպատը: Դրան հետևած չորս հարյուրամյակների ընթացքում փայտյա չմուշկները փոխել են միայն իրենց ձևը և երկարությունը: 

Սկսած 19-րդ դարի երկրորդ կեսից՝ բուռն զարգացում է ապրել չմշկավազք մարզաձևը, որն էլ հենց ազդել է չմուշկների նորարարություններին տարբեր երկրներում: Սկսած այդ դարի 50-ականներից՝ սկսել են արտադրել ամբողջական պողպատե չմուշկներ, իսկ 1880 թվականին ստեղծվել են խողովակային չմուշկներ: 

1887 թվականին Պանշինը ստեղծել է չմշկավազքի ժամանակակից չմուշկները: Վերջնական ձև չմուշկները ստացել են Գագենի շնորհիվ, որը ստեղծել է հատուկ պողպատե միջուկ պարունակող խողովակային չմուշկները, և ներկայումս բոլորը նման չմուշկներ են օգտագործում: Ժամանակակից չմուշկները տարբեր տեսակի են լինում և ընտրվում են՝ կախված սահելու համար անհրաժեշտ պահանջների բնույթից:
