Մադրիդի «Ռեալի» նախագահ Ֆլորենտինո Պերեսը մեկնաբանել է հաղթանակը Իսպանիայի սուպերգավաթի խաղարկության եզրափակիչում։ Արքայական ակումբը պարտության էր մատնել Մադրիդի «Աթլետիկոյին» (0:0, 11մ՝ 4:1)։
«Մենք շատ ուրախ ենք։ Պետք է շնորհավորել նաեւ «Աթլետիկոյին», որը շատ արժանի մրցակից է։

Առաջին անգամ այս տիտղոսը վիճարկեց չորս թիմ եւ առաջին անգամ սուպերգավաթը չնվաճեց չեմպիոնը կամ գավաթակիրը։ Չեմպիոն «Բարսելոնան» կիսաեզրափակիչում 2։3 հաշվով պարտվել էր Մադրիդի «Աթլետիկոյին», գավաթակիր «Վալենսիան»՝ 1։3 հաշվով «Ռեալին»։
