Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի վերջին տարվա կոնֆրոնտացիոն գործողությունները ստիպել են Բրյուսելում եւ Վաշինգտոնում պաշտոնյաներին մտածել այն մասին, թե որքանո՞վ հեռու կարող է գնալ Թուրքիայի նախագահը Արեւմուտքից ռազմավարական առումով օտարվելու եւ Ռուսաստանի հետ մտերմանալու ճանապարհին, գրում է Politico-ն:

Վերջին տարվա ընթացքում Էրդողանը սկսել է հարձակվել Սիրիայի հյուսիս-արեւելքում ընդդեմ քրդական ուժերի, որոնք կապված են Արեւմուտքի հետ՝ սպառնալով ուղարկել միլիոնավոր սիրիացի փախստականներին Եվրոպա, եթե ԵՄ-ը խոչընդոտի Սիրիայի ներսում նրանց անվտանգության գոտի տեղափոխելու Անկարայի ծրագիրը, սկսվել է ռուսական Ս-400-ի տեղադրումը, որը խոչընդոտում է ՆԱՏՕ-ում դաշնակիցների պահանջներին եւ Լիբիայում զենքի մատակարարումը՝ խախտելով ՄԱԿ-ի էմբարգոն:

Այդ բոլոր իրադարձությունները ստիպել են որոշ վերլուծաբաններին համարել, որ Էրդողանը փոխել է Անկարայի արեւմտյան կողմնորոշումը, որի հիմքը դրվել էր շուրջ հարյուր տարի առաջ Թուրքիայի Հանրապետության հիմնադիր Մուստաֆա Քեմալ Աթաթուրքի գլխավորությամբ:

«Կրեմլը բացահայտ կերպով օգտագործում է Թուրքիային որպես ՆԱՏՕ-ն ներքուստ պառակտելու գործիք»,-համարում է Թուրքիայում ԵՄ նախկին դեսպան Մարկ Պյերինին:

Արդարություն եւ զարգացում կուսակցության մեջ նախկին դաշնակիցների հեռանալը վերջին տարվա ընթացքում թուլացրել է էրդողանի դիրքերը երկրի ներսում, ինչը հրահրել է Թուրքիայի նախագահին ավելի շատ դիմել ուժային որոշումների:

Հոդվածում նշվում է, որ դեկտեմբերին կայացած ՆԱՏՕ-ի գագաթնաժողովից հետո, Էրդողանը վերադարձել է դատարկաձեռն եւ առաջարկել ուղարկել զորքեր Լիբիա եւ տեղակայել անօդաչու թռչող սարքեր հյուսիսային Կիպրոսում հորատման աշխատանքները սատարելու համար, որոնք ԵՄ-ը հայտարարել էր որպես ապօրինի:
