Վաշինգտոնում սկսվել է Ռուսաստանի ԱԳ նախարար Սերգեյ Լավրովի և ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղար Մայք Պոմպեոյի հանդիպումը: Այս մասին գրում է РИА Новости-ն՝ նշելով, որ բանակցությունների մեկնարկային հատվածը մեկ րոպեից էլ քիչ է տևել:
Արտաքին քաղաքականության գերատեսչությունների ղեկավարները և պատվիրակություններն արդեն նստած էին բանակցությունների սեղանի շուրջ, երբ լրագրողները սրահ են մտել: Մի քանի հարցի պատասխանելու՝ ամերիկյան ԶԼՄ-ների խնդրանքներն անպատասխան են մնացել:
Ինչպես ակնկալվում է, Լավրովն ու Պոմպեոն լրագրողների հետ կշփվեն բանակցություններից հետո: Դրանից հետո Լավրովին կընդունի ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը:
