Հայոց ցեղասպանության բանաձևը չի ընդգրկվել ԱՄՆ Սենատի օրակարգում
INTERNATIONAL NEWSԱՄՆ Սենատը երրորդ անգամ հրաժարվեց քննարկել սենատորներ Ռոբերտ Մենենդեսի ու Թեդ Քրուզի առաջադրած Հայոց ցեղասպանության վերաբերյալ համար 150 բանաձևը:Ինչպես տեղեկացնում է «Ամերիկայի ձայն»-ը, ԱՄՆ Սենատի կանոնակարգի համաձայն, օրենսդիրները պետք է նախ կողմ քվեարկեն բանաձևի օրակարգում ընդգրկվելուն, որից հետո միայն անցնեն փաստաթղթի բուն քննարկմանն ու քվեարկությանը:
«Արդյոք մենք ճանաչում ենք Ցեղասպանությունը, որը տեղի է ունեցել, թե պետք է թույլ տանք, որ Թուրքիայի նման երկիրը որոշի մեր սեփական հայացքները, պատմության ընկալումը, բարոյական պարտավորություններն ու հանրային կարծիքը»,-նշել է ԱՄՆ Սենատում դեմոկրատ սենատոր Ռոբերտ Մենենդեսը՝ կրկին բարձրացնելով Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման բանաձևի հարցը:
Դեմոկրատ սենատորին միացավ իր հանրապետական գործընկեր, սենատոր Թեդ Քրուզը, ով ընդգծեց՝ Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը անհերքելի փաստ է, և ԱՄՆ-ը բարոյական պարտավորություն ունի անմեղ զոհերի հիշատակի առջև: Քննադատելով Թուրքիայի վարած քաղաքականությունը՝ հանրապետական սենատորը վստահություն հայտնեց, որ ճանաչումը որևէ բացասական հետևանք չի ունենա ԱՄՆ-Թուրքիա հարաբերությունների վրա:
«ՆԱՏՕ-ի անդամ 12 երկրներում Ցեղասպանությունն արդեն ճանաչված է։ Այո, Թուրքիան ՆԱՏՕ-ի դաշնակից է, սակայն դաշնակիցները պետք է ասեն ճշմարտությունը միմյանց»,- ընդգծել է սենատոր Քրուզը:
«Ես կողմ եմ այս բանաձևի ոգուն ու վստահ եմ, որ իմ 99 մյուս գործընկերները ևս համամիտ են այս բանաձևի հետ: Մենք կարող ենք այն անցկացնել, սակայն հարցն այն է, թե ե՞րբ է պետք դա անել: Իմ կարծիքով այժմ հաստատ դրա ժամանակը չէ»,-ասել է նա:
Ըստ ԱՄՆ Սենատի կանոնակարգի՝ մեկ սենատոր կարող է արգելափակել յուրաքանչյուր հարցի քննարկում: Այսպիսով, Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման բանաձևի ընդգրկումը Սենատի օրակարգում դեկտեմբերի 5-ին արգելափակվել է Հյուսիսային Դակոտայի սենատորի կողմից: Արձագանքելով դրան՝ սենատոր Մենենդեսն ընդգծել է, որ դժվար է ընտրել ճիշտ ժամանակ այս քայլի համար: Նա վստահեցրել է, որ կշարունակի պայքարել ԱՄՆ Սենատի կողմից Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման համար:
