Կիրակի ցուցարարները, որոնց թիվը մի քանի հազար է կազմում, հավաքվել են Թբիլիսիի Ռուսթավելի պողոտայում՝ խորհրդարանի շենքի մոտ, որտեղ նախատեսված է ընդդիմության հանրահավաքը:

Ինչպես փոխանցում է ТАСС գործակալությունը, ցուցարարները պահանջում են երկրում արտահերթ խորհրդարանական ընտրություններ անցկացնել համամասնական համակարգով:

«Արդեն 16-րդ տարին է, ինչ մենք կանգնած ենք Ռուսթավելի պողոտայում: Իշխանություններից և ոչ մեկը չի հասկացել, որ չի կարելի Վրաստանում ավտորիտար ռեժիմ հաստատել: Դա անհնար է: Այսօր մենք հավաքվել ենք այն պատճառով, որ վերջերս աննախադեպ իրադարձություն է տեղի ունեցել: Իշխանությունը տապալել է համամասնական համակարգի անցնելու սահմանադրական բարեփոխումը: Մեզ դա խոստացել էին, սակայն 5 ամիս անց իշխանությունը փոշմանել է»,- հայտարարել է «Ժողովրդավարական շարժում՝ միասնական Վրաստան» կուսակցության քաղխորհրդի անդամ Անզոր Բիցաձեն:

Ռուսթավելի պողոտան շարունակում է փակ մնալ: Այնտեղ հինգշաբթի օրվանից վրաններ են տեղակայված, որտեղ մարդիկ գիշերում են, խարույկներ են վառում երկաթե տակառներում: Հանրահավաքի անցկացման վայրում ուժեղացվել է անվտանգության հսկողությունը:
