Գեղարքունիքում հոկտեմբերի 30-ին, խոշոր ավտովթար է տեղի ունեցել. ժամը 15:30-ի սահմաններում Մարտունի-Վարդենիս-Քարվաճառ ավտոճանապարհի 11-րդ կմ հատվածում բախվել են Երեւանի բնակիչ, 68-ամյա Արտավազդ Յախշիբեկյանի վարած Mercedes G63 մակնիշի 888 GG 86 համարանիշի եւ Գեղարքունիքի մարզի բնակիչ, 45-ամյա Վալենտին Խաչատրյանի վարած Mercedes Տ500 մակնիշի E 536 HK 196 RUS համարանիշի ավտոմեքենաները:

Խաչատրյանի ուղեւորներ, Գեղարքունիքի մարզի Մեծ Մասրիկ գյուղի բնակիչ, 21-ամյա Կարեն Պետրոսյանը, Երեւան քաղաքի բնակիչ, 22-ամյա Անդրանիկ Խաչատրյանը, վարորդներից Ա. Յախշիբեկյանը, նրա ուղեւոր, Երեւանի բնակիչ, 80-ամյա Լեւոն Իգիթյանը մարմնական վնասվածքներով տեղափոխվել են «Մարտունի» բժշկական կենտրոն:
