Մի օր Տարա Թեյլորը հրապարակեց Facebook-ում իր 3-ամյա աղջնակի՝ Ռայլիի, նկարը: Նա աղջնակին նոր սանրվածք էր արել և ցանկացել էր կիսվել դրանով: Բայց նրա ընկերներից ոմանք նկարում մի բան էին նկատել. Աղջկա ձախ աչքը փայլում էր: Տարան մտածում էր, որ ուղղակի լույս էր ընկել աչքին, բայց նրա ընկերները համոզեցին նրան, որ ինչ-որ բն այնպես չէ:

Մեկնաբանություն նկարին. «Լսիր, ես համոզված եմ, որ ոչ մի սարսափելի բան չկա: Հնարավոր է, որ լույսն է այդպես ընկել: Բայց Ռայլիի աչքը տարօրինակ է փայլում, մի գուցե, ամեն դեպքում, արժե՞ ցույց տալ մասնագետին»:

Հաջորդ օրը մայրը տարավ աղջկան ակնաբույժի մոտ: Ռայլիի մոտ ախտորոշեցին Կոատսի հիվանդություն, հազվադեպ հիվանդություն, որը կարող է հանգեցնել տեսողության մասնակի կամ ամբողջական կորուստի: Հիվանդության բնորոշ ախտանիշներից մեկը աչքի «փայլելն» է: Եթե այդպիսի փայլ է լինում կույրերի մոտ՝ դա կարող է քաղցկեղի նախանշան լինել:

Հիվանդանոցի բժիշկը, որտեղ բուժվում է աղջնակը, ասում է, որ երեխաների մոտ կարևոր է շատ շուտ հայտնաբերել այդ հիվանդությունը: Քանի որ Ռայլին երեք տարեկան է, նրա հնարավորությունները լավն են ու շատ: Ամենավատն այն է, երբ արդեն երեխան մոտենում է մայրիկին և ասում է. «Մայրիկ, ես ձախ աչքով չեմ տեսնում»: Տարան գաղափար չունի, թե որտեղից է աղջկա մոտ այդ խնդիրն առաջացել: Նա հեռուստացույցին մոտ չի նստում: Ռայլին զբաղվում է մարմնամարզությամբ և լավ գլուխ է հանում բոլոր առաջադրված վարժություններից:
