«Եռաբլուր» զինվորական պանթեոնում  լրագրողները պաշտպանության նախարարից հետաքրքրվել են վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի՝ «Արցախը Հայաստան է եւ վերջ» հայտարարությանը հետևած միջազգային արձագանքների հանդեպ իր վերաբերմունքով. Դավիթ Տոնոյանի խոսքով՝ «մեր դիվանագետները  դրանց հմտորեն արձագանքում են»։

BBC-ի հաղորդավարի խոսքերը, թե  «Արցախը տարածք է, որտեղ հայեր են ապրում» եւ դրանց   արտգործնախարարի չարձագանքելու մասին հարցին՝  Դ.Տոնոյանը հորդորել է իրեն «չներքաշել  այդ խոսակցության մեջ»։ «Իմ մոտեցումը ես ժամանակին արտահայտել եմ», ասել է նա։

«Ինչպես է պատկերացնում ԼՂ հակամարտության լուծումը» հարցին Տոնոյանը պատասխանել է. «Միայն հաղթանակով եմ պատկերացնում, Արցախի հարցը լուծված է»։

Նրա խոսքով՝ Ազգային ժողովի ապրիլյան պատերազմի քննիչ հանձնաժողովի հետ ՊՆ-ն սերտ համագործակցում է․ «Նորմալ է, համագործակցությունը շատ սերտ է, բոլոր անհրաժեշտ փաստաթղթերը տրամադրվում են, ՊՆ ներկայացուցիչները ներկա են հանձնաժողովի աշխատանքներին»։ Հարցին՝ եթե իրեն էլ կանչեն հանձնաժողով, կգնա՞, Տոնոյանը պատասխանել է․ «Եթե հրավիրվեն՝ այո»։ Նախարարը բացառել է 2016-ի ապրիլին հայաստանյան կողմից դավադիր պատերազմի հնարավորությունը։  Նա նաև հույս ունի, որ ապրիլյան պատերազմի քննիչ հանձնաժողովը վերջ կդնի ապրիլյան պատերազմի մասին հասարակության մեջ շրջանառվող ասեկոսեներին։

Պաշտպանության նախարարը խոսել է նաեւ սահմանին տիրող դրության մասին։ Սահմանին, նրա խոսքով, հարաբերական անդորր է․ «Իրավիճակը վերահսկելի է, կան կրակոցներ, որոնք պայմանավորված են ինժեներական աշխատանքներով»։
