Ռոբերտ Մելքոնյանը Ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում գրում է.

Թուրքիայի կողմից ռուսական ռազմական ինքնաթիռի կործանումով և ռուս-թուրքական առճակատումով վաղ է ուրախանալ և մենք դեռևս չգիտենք թե ինչ հետագա զարգացումներ կստանա այն:
Դուք չե՞ք զգում պատմության հնարավոր կրկնությունն ուղիղ 100 տարի անց...Էլի ոտնատակ կտան, քավության նոխազ կսարքեն մեզ…
Թուրքիան պատահական չարեց այդ քայլը: Նախ՝ դա ԱՄՆ-ի պահանջն էր հրահրել և ստեղծել նման իրավիճակ: Երկրորդը՝ այդ քայլը պետք էր Էրդողանների ընտանիքին, Սիրիայի սահմաններում տեղակայված զորամիավորումների բարձրաստիճան հրամանատարներին, քանի որ նրանք սերտորեն համագործակցելով ծայրահեղ իսլամիստների հետ, հսկայական գերշահույթներ են ստանում պատմա-մշակութային արժեքների և էժան նավթի առևտրից: Իսկ Ռուսատանը ռմբահարումներով ուժեղացրեց իր ներկայությունն այդ տարածաշրջանում և խառնեց բոլոր խաղաքարտերը:
Թուրքիան ՆԱՏՕ-ի անդամ է և թուրքական բանակը ՆԱՏՕ-ի ամենաբազմաքանակ, ամենամարտունակ, ամենադիմացկուն, տեխնիկապես զինված բանակն է: Ռուսաստանից արդեն կոչեր են հնչում պատասխան քայլերի և Հայաստանում տաեղակայված ռազմաբազան ուժեղացնելու, վերազինելու, նոր՝ հզոր զինատեսակներով համալրելու ուղղությամբ: Սրան ի պատասխան Թուրքիան մեր սահմանների մերձակայքում կմեծացնի զորամիավորումների և նոր զինատեսակների կուտակումները: Մենք փաստորեն ակամա հայտնվում ենք Մերձավոր Արևելքի կոնֆլիկտի, իսլամական ծայրահեղ ահաբեկիչների, ռուս-թուրքական, ԱՄՆ-ի աշխարհաքաղաքական նկրտումների կիզակետում: 
Մենք փաստորեն պատային իրավիճակում ենք, վառոդի տակառի վրա նստածի <<կարգավիճակում>> և պետք շատ նուրբ, զգույշ ու հաշվենկատ քայլեր կատարենք, այլապես ոտնատակ կլինենք՝ անցյալ դարաշրջանի սկզբի նման…
