Ամեն տարի հոկտեմբերի 20-ին իրենց մասնագիտական տոնն են նշում ամբողջ աշխարհի խոհարարները, գրում է Calend.ru-ն:
Միջազգային տոնը հիմադրվել է 2004 թվականին Խոհարարական միությունների համաշխարհային ասոցիացիայի կողմից: Այդ կազմակերպությունը, ի դեպ, ունի 8 միլիոն անդամ, որոնք տարբեր երկրներում աշխատող խոհարարներ են: Այդ իսկ պատճառով զարմանալի չէ, որ համաշխարհային խոհանոցի մասնագետներն արդեն ունեն իրենց մասնագիտական տոնը:
Խոհարարների միջազգային օրը (International Chefs Day) տոնում են ավելի քան 70 երկրներում եւ այն կրում է բավականին մասշտաբային բնույթ: Բացի խոհարարներից, տոնական միջոցառումների կազմակերպման հարցում մասնակցում են իշխանության, տուրիստական ընկերությունների ներկայացուցիչները եւ, իհարկե, հանրային սննդի ձեռնարկությունների՝ փոքր սրճարանների, ինչպես նաեւ հայտնի ռեստորանների սեփականատերերը: Նրանք կազմակերպում են վարպետաց դասեր եւ մրցույթներ խոհարարների շրջանում, անցկացնում են համտեսներ եւ փորձարկում են յուրահատուկ ուտեստներ պատրաստելու եղանակները:
Խոհարարի մասնագիտությունն աշխարհում ամենապահանջված եւ հնագույն մասնագիտություններից մեկն է: Իհարկե, պատմությունը լռում է այն մասին, թե ով է առաջինը մտածել որսի միսը կամ հավաքած բանջարեղենը եփելու մասին, սակայն դրա փոխարեն գեղեցիկ լեգենդ կա կնոջ վերաբերյալ, ում անունով կոչվել է այդ մասնագիտությունը։
Հին հույները պաշտում էին բժշկության աստված Ասկլիպիոսին (հռոմեական դիցարանում՝ Էսկուլապ)։ Նրա դուստր Հիգեան համարվում էր առողջության պահապանը (այստեղից, ի դեպ, առաջացել է «հիգիենա» բառը)։ Իսկ նրանց հավատարիմ օգնականը խոհարար Կուլինան էր, որը համարվում էր խոհարարական արվեստի աստվածուհին։ Այստեղից էլ առաջացել է «կուլինարիա»՝ խոհարարություն անվանումը։
Թղթին հանձնված առաջին բաղադրատոմսերն ի հայտ են եկել Բաբելոնում, Հին Եգիպտոսում եւ Հին Չինաստանում, ինչպես նաեւ արաբական Արեւելքի երկրներում: Դրանցից մի քանիսը մեզ են հասել այդ ժամանակաշրջանի գրավոր հիշատակարաններում, եւ ցանկության դեպքում յուրաքանչյուր ոք կարող է փորձել պատրաստել ուտեստներ, որոնք համտեսել է Եգիպտոսի փարավոնը կամ Չինաստանի կայսրը:
