Սիմոն Մարտիրոսյանն՝ աշխարհի կրկնակի չեմպիոն եւ ռեկորդակիր (ֆոտո)
SPORTԹաիլանդում անցկացվող ծանրամարտի աշխարհի առաջնությունում Հայաստանի հավաքականի առաջատար Սիմոն Մարտիրոսյանը նվաճեց չեմպիոնի կոչումը՝ 109 կգ քաշայինների երկամարտում հավաքելով 429 կգ։
Սիմոն Մարտիրոսյանը պոկում վարժությունում գրավեց առաջին տեղը։ Նա բարձրացնելով 199 կգ՝ սահմանեց նաեւ այս վարժության աշխարհի ռեկորդ։
Հրում վարժությունում Սիմոն Մարտիրոսյանը պատվիրել էր ամենաբարձր քաշը՝ 230։ Հայ ծանրորդը առաջին փորձով բարձրացրեց եւ նվաճեց տիտղոսը։ Մարտիրոսյանը պատվիրեց նաեւ 241 կգ (աշխարհի ռեկորդ), որը բարձրացնել չհաջողվեց։
22-ամյա Սիմոն Մարտիրոսյանը նաեւ 2016թ․ Ռիոյի Օլիմպիական խաղերի փոխչեմպիոն է, 2018թ․ աշխարհի չեմպիոն եւ ռեկորդակիր, 2017 եւ 2019 թվականների Եվրոպայի չեմպիոն, աշխարհի երիտասարդական առաջնության չեմպիոն, Համաշխարհային ուսանողական խաղերի չեմպիոն, Եվրոպայի Մ-20 չեմպիոն եւ ռեկորդակիր, Եվրոպայի Մ-23 չեմպիոն եւ Նանջինգ-2014 պատանեկան Օլիմպիական խաղերի չեմպիոն: Ապրիլին Բաթումիում այս տարվա Եվրոպայի առաջնությունում Սիմոն Մարտիրոսյանը չեմպիոնի կոչումը նվաճեց երկամարտի 427 (192+235) կգ-ով:
