LIFE14-ամյա ռումինացի Լորելյայ Մոնսեգուտուն, չնայած իր դեռատի տարիքին՝ հասցրել է բավականաչափ տառապել: Աղջիկը ծնվել է առանց ձեռքերի և մայրը հենց ծննդատանը հրաժարվել է նրանից: Մի սոցիալական աշխատող այնքան էր հուզվել, որ չկարողացավ անտարբեր մնալ փոքրիկի ճակատագրին, և որդեգրեց նրան:
Մինչեւ 3 տարեկանը Լորելյայը ոչ մի բառ չի արտասանել: Որքան ավելի էր նա մեծանում, այնքան ավելի անհարմար էր զգում իրեն այս աշխարհում: Սակայն խիզախ փոքրիկ աղջիկը սովորեց ամեն ինչ անել ոտքերով:
Նա սովորեց ոտքերով ուտել, նկարել, օգտագործել նոուտբուքը եւ նույնիսկ դաշնամուր նվագել:
Շուտով որդեգրող մայրը հայտնաբերեց, որ աղջիկը հրաշալի, հզոր ձայն ունի: Նա որոշեց զարգացնել Լորելյայի այս տաղանդը եւ երեխան սկսեց վոկալ ուսումնասիրել:
