Բիրմինգհեմի բնակչուհին տոնել էիր՝ թմրանյութերից ազատվելու փաստը: 

12 ամիս առաջ այս կինը ոստիկանությանը հայտնի էր, որպես ավազակ, սակայն հիմա ամեն ինչ փոխվել է: Կինը այժմ օգնում է թմրանյութերից կախվածություն ունեցող մարդկանց դուրս գալ այդ վիճակից: 

Վստահ է, որ նա օրինակ կարող է ծառայել շատ մարդկանց: 

Ավելի վաղ 37-ամյա Քերոլայն Բեսթը տարբեր տեսակի թմրամիջոցներ էր օգտագործում: 

Գողությունների պատճառով Բեստը վերջին 15 տարիներն անցկացրել է բանտում, մինչև բուժվել է թմրանյութերի դեմ:

Մեկ տարի առաջ բժիշկները Կարոլայնին ասացին, որ նրան 12 ամիս է մնացել ապրելու, և վիրահատությունը հնարավոր կլինի միայն այն դեպքում, երբ կինը հրաժարվի արգելված նյութերից:

Այդ ժամանակ էր, երբ հանձնակատար Ստյուարտ Տուգուդը օգնության հասավ (հեգնանքով, անգլերենից նրա ազգանունը կարելի է թարգմանել որպես «շատ լավ»):

Բանն այն է, որ Բիրմինգհեմի ոստիկանությունը իրականացնում է «Հանցագործները` վերականգնողական կենտրոնում »ծրագիրը, որն օգնում է թմրամոլներին ազատվել կախվածությունից:

Սպաները պնդում են, որ նրանք արդեն հաջողությամբ ուղարկել են նախկինում դատապարտված ինը մարդկանց բուժման: Կարոլինան դարձավ դրանցից մեկը և կարողացավ մեկ տարվա ընթացքում ազատվել վտանգավոր նյութերից: Օգոստոսի 27-ին լրանում է 1 տարին, երբ նա թմրանյութ չի ընդունել:

«Ես իարական ապացույցն եմ, որ մենք՝թմրամոլներիս հնարավոր է բուժել», - ասում է Բեստը:

Քերոլայն այժմ ապրում է վերականգնողական կենտրոնում և օգնում է Ստյուարտ Տուգուդին բուժման համար դիմել այլ կախվածության մեջ գտնվող հանցագործներին:

 Բժշկական վիրահատություն անհրաժեշտության կարիք չկար, քանի որ սովորությունից ազատվելուց հետո, նրա սրտի փականներն ինքնուրույն վերադարձան նորմալ վիճակի:
