Եթե Ստամբուլյան կոնվենցիայի վավերացումը սպառնում է մեր ազգային ավանդույթներին, ապա որեւէ կերպ այն չի կարող ընդունվել։ Այս մասին այսօր՝ օգոստոսի 2-ին, լրագրողների հետ զրույցում ասաց ԱԺ նախագահ Արարատ Միրզոյանը։

«Բացառվում է, որ հայկական ազգային ավանդական արժեքների խեղաթյուրում նախատեսող որեւէ նախաձեռնություն մեր կողմից խրախուսվի։ Կլինեն լուրջ աշխատանքներ, որպեսզի մարդկանց ներկայացվի՝ իրականում ինչի մասին է խոսքը, որովհետեւ ասել են՝ ինչ-որ մի բանի մասին է, որը, իհարկե, առաջացնում է մտահոգություններ մարդկանց շրջանում»,- ասաց ԱԺ նախագահը։

Միրզոյանն ասաց, որ ինքը կարդացել է կոնվենցիան եւ ազգային-ավանդական արժեքներին առնչվող որեւէ կետ չի տեսել. «Խոսքն ընտանեկան բռնության մասին է, եւ, ցավոք սրտի, այս երեւույթը մեր կյանքում կա։ Մեզանից յուրաքանչյուրը, որ շատ փորի, կգտնի իր շրջապատում մեկին, ով այդպիսի բանի հետ բախվել է։ Բռնությունը մեր հասարակությունում պետք է տեղ չունենա»։
