Արման Հովասափյանը Ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում գրում է.

Դժվար է պատկերացնել աշխարհն առանց ֆուտբոլի և, ընդհանրապես, առանց սպորտային իրականության: Անհնար է խոսել համաշխարհային ֆուտբոլի մասին ու չանդրադառնալ «սուպերկլասիկոյին», որի գլխավոր դերակատարներն են ֆուտբոլային գիգանտներ համարվող կատալոնական «Բարսելոնան» և մադրիդյան «Ռեալը»:

1899 թվականի նոյեմբերի 29-ին Հանս Գամպերը՝ 11 այլ մարզասերների հետ միասին հիմնադրել է «Բարսելոնա» ֆուտբոլային ակումբը։ Ֆուտբոլն այդ շրջափուլում աշխարհի այս հատվածին այնքան էլ ծանոթ չէր։ Հավանաբար Գամպերը չէր պատկերացնում, որ իր նախաձեռնությունը այնպիսի զարգացում կունենա, ինչպիսին այսօր է: 
«Բարսելոնա» ակումբն ամբողջ աշխարհում միլիոնավոր մարդկանց համար դարձել է ինքնության խորհրդանիշ, և ոչ միայն մարզական առումով, այլ նաև՝ հասարակության, քաղաքականության և մշակույթի։ Ամենադժվարին ժամանակներում, «Բարսելոնա» ակումբը մի չափօրինակ էր, որ ներկայացնում էր Կատալոնիան և Կատալոնիայի ժողովրդի ազատության տենչը, որ շարունակվում է մինչ օրս նույնացվել ակումբի և նրա անդամների արտահայտչամիջոցի հետ։ Իսպանիայի համատեքստում «Բարսելոնը» դիտվում է որպես բաց և ժողովրդավարական ակումբ։

1897 թվականին ստեղծվում է Արքայական ֆուտբոլային ակումբը՝ դառնալով մադրիդյան ակումբի հիմքը։ Սակայն ակումբի ստեղծման պաշտոնական ամսաթիվը համարվում է 1902 թվականի մարտի 6-ը, երբ Պադրոս և Խուլիան Պալասիոս եղբայրների կողմից բացվեց Madrid Football Club ակումբը։ Երեք տարի հետո՝ 1905 թվականին, Մադրիդ ՖԱ-ն նվաճեց իր առաջին տիտղոսը` Իսպանիայի գավաթի եզրափակչում հաղթելով Աթլետիկ Բիլբաոյին։ 1920 թվականի հունիսի 29-ին Իսպանիայի թագավոր Ալֆոնս 13-ն ակումբին շնորհեց Արքայական տիտղոսը, ինչը իսպաներեն հնչում է «Ռեալ»։ Այստեղից է գալիս ակումբի անվանումը՝ «Ռեալ Մադրիդ»։

Երկու գիգանտների՝ «Բարսելոնայի» և մադրիդյան «Ռեալի» հակամարտությունն ի հայտ է եկել 20-րդ դարի կեսերին, այն ժամանակ, երբ Իսպանիայում իշխանության էր գեներալ Ֆրանկոն։ Հանդիսանալով թագավորական ակումբի մեծ երկրպագու՝ Ֆրանկոն ջանք չէր խնայում, որպեսզի ամեն տարի ապահովի «Ռեալի» գերակայությունը «Բարսայի» նկատմամբ։ Պայմանավարված նրանով, որ նույն այդ ժամանակ կատալոնացիներն ավելի ուժգին էին սկսել իրենց պայքարն ինքնուրույնության համար, այս պայքարում Բարսան մի տեսակ վերածվել էր այդ նույն պայքարի դրոշակակրի, իսկ հենց այս հակամարտությունը, երկու կողմերի՝ իսպանացիների և կատալոնացիների համար, լավագույն առիթն էր միմյանց ցույց տալու սեփական արժանիքներն ու պատվախնդրությունը։

Հետագայում հակամարտության բնույթը փոքր-ինչ փոխվեց, ու դա տեղի ունեցավ այն պահից, երբ Ֆրանկոն Իսպանիայում զրկվեց իշխանությունից և վերականգնվեց թագավորական իշխանությունը։ Սակայն հակամարտության էությունը, մեծ հաշվով, չի փոխվել, քանզի ապահովված է կատալոնացիների պատվախնդրական քայլերով, որոնցով նրանք արդեն ցանկանում էին հետ բերել այն բոլոր կորսված տիտղոսները, որոնք, ըստ իրենց, Ֆրանկոյի թեթևամիտ քայլերի հետևանքով դարձել էին «Ճերմակների» սեփականությունը։ 
Վերջին տասնամյակներում հակամարտության էությանը գալիս էր ապահովելու երկրպագուների ընդվզումներն ու դրանց շուրջ գոյացող կրքերը թե՛ մեկ, թե՛ մյուս կողմից։
