Սիսեռը պարունակում է շուրջ 80 սնննդարար նյութեր: Այն, ինչպես և մյուս  լոբազգիները, անփոխարինելի է հյուսվածքներում խոլեստերինի մակարդակն իջեցնելու գործում : Գիտականորեն ապացուցված է, որ լոբազգիների՝ հատկապես սիսեռի օգտագործումը էականորեն կրճատում է սրտանոթային հիվանդություններով հիվանդություններով հիվանդանալու հավանականությունը և դրանց լուրջ հետևանքները, այնպիսիք, ինչպիսիք են կաթվածներն ու ինֆարկտները: Այն, փաստորեն, օրգանիզմն ապահովում է ճարպազուրկ և դրանով հանդերձ բարձրակարգ սպիտակուցով:
