Երբ 18 տարեկան աղջիկը, ով կարծես պիտի վայելեր իր երիտասարդությունը, կյանքը, մտածեր իր ուսման ու ապագայի մասին, սիրեր ու սիրվեր, իր իսկ կողմից հրապարակված (իսկ հետո պարզվեց, որ ուղղակի սարքած, ինչն ավելի վատ է ու ստոր քայլ է) նամակագրության մեջ ի ցույց է դնում ներքին ատելության ու սանձարձակության ողջ պաշարը, հասկանում ես, որ ոմանք կարողացել են զգալիորեն հասնել իրենց ուզածին: Հասել են հասարակության ծայրահեղ բևեռացման, ծայրահեղ ատելության, ծայրահեղ անհանդուրժողականության:

Այլ բան հնարավոր չէ սպասել այնպիսի հանգամանքներում, երբ տարիներ շարունակ տոտալ վարկաբեկել ենք ամեն ինչ ու ամենքին՝ մտավորականից մինչև պաշտոնյա, երբ իշխանափոխության հասնելու տենդի մեջ հայտնի գործիչների անուններով սև ժապավեններ էին կախում փողոցներում, երբ հրապարակում էին պատգամավորների տների հասցեներն ու հեռախոսահամարները, թե՝ զանգեք, գնացեք ու հայհոյեք, «թքեքմրեք», երբ սեփական երկրում «սևերի» ու «սպիտակների» պատերազմ են սանձազերծում, երբ գլխավոր թրենդը ասֆալտին փռելն ու պատերին ծեփելն է, երբ լեքսիկոնի գլխավոր բաղադրիչը մուննաթն ու մատ թափ տալն է, երբ իշխանության քիմքին անհաճո դատական որոշման արդյունքում դատարանների դռներ ես փակել տալիս, երբ մեկը կարող է ինքն իրեն արդեն Հռոմի պապ էլ հռչակել, երբ փափագում ես, որ սեփական երկրում մարդիկ «բոմժ» դառնան:

Արդյունքում հիստերիայի, ծայրահեղության, հիվանդագին չարության նոպաների շքերթ է ամեն քայլափոխի, երբ որևէ մեկի ծնողի մահվան լուրի տակ տարոս ենք մաղթում մնացյալին, երբ փափագում ենք որևէ մեկի մահը, երբ արդարացնում ենք բռնությունը, երբ կանայք հայհոյում են ռուս կառապանից ավելի թունդ, երբ ձեռք են բարձրացնում ընտանիքի վրա, երբ մեր իսկ երեխաներին ենք ներքաշում զազրելի թոհուբոհի մեջ, երբ...

Ակամա՞ ստացվեց այս ամենը, թե՞ հատուկ դիտավորությամբ: Չգիտեմ, վստահ չեմ: Բայց այն եռանդը, որ առանձին ուժեր ներդնում են նման վիճակ ունենալու գործում, տխուր մտահանգման առիթ է տալիս, թե՝ ավելի շատ երկրորդը: Ու թե ուշքի չեկանք, մի կարճ ժամանակ անց այս ամենն այլևս անդառնալի է լինելու: Բայց պատմությունն է վկայում, որ չարությունն ու նենգությունը, ատելությունն ու անհանդուրժողականությունը պարզապես կարիճ են: Իսկ թե ինչ է լինում կարիճի հետ ի վերջո, հայտնի է բոլորին...

Եվ ուզում ես բոլորին ասել՝ սիրելինե՛ր, հարկ չկա լինել այդքան լևոնապաշտ ու լևոնատյաց, ռոբերտապաշտ ու ռոբերտատյաց, սերժապաշտ ու սերժատյաց, նիկոլապաշտ ու նիկոլատյաց: Համակրանքներ ու հակակրանքներ կարող են ունենալ բոլորը, սակայն երբեք մի հասցրեք այդ ամենը ծայրահեղության, պաշտամունքի ու ատելության: Ի վերջո, ամեն ոք իր գործով պիտի զբաղվի, չի կարող առողջ հասարակության մեջ մեծամասնությունը (եթե ոչ բոլորը) զբաղվի քաղաքականությամբ, բոլորը լինեն քաղաքական գործիչ, միևնույն ժամանակ՝ դատավոր ու դատախազ, միևնույն ժամանակ՝ քաղաքագետ ու տնտեսագետ, միևնույն ժամանակ՝ հայհոյանքի մրցույթի մասնակից, ուր բոլորն առաջին տեղում են, իսկ մնացյալ 3 միլիոն տեղերը դատարկ են...

Կյանքը չափազանց կարճ է թույնի ու թշնամանքի մեջ ապրելու համար:
