Մեկ անգամ չէ, որ մամուլը տեղեկացրել է, որ երշիկը կամ նրբերշիկը դարձել են թունավորման պատճառ: Նույնիսկ մահվան դեպքեր են եղել, սակայն այդպես էլ պարզ չի դարձել, թե այն ո՞ր ընկերության արտադրանքն է եղել:

Մեր տեղեկություններով, նույնիսկ եղել են երշիկի արտադրությամբ զբաղվող փոքր ձեռնարկություններ, որոնք փոշենման զանգված են ներկրել, հետո այն ջրով խառնել են, ստացել համասեռ զանգված, փաթեթավորել են և վաճառել մեծ ու փոքր խանութներում:
