Թուրքիայի դատախազությունը հետաքննություն է սկսել մի շարք գրողների, այդ թվում՝ Հայոց ցեղասպանության թեմային անդրադարձ կատարող «Ստամբուլի բիճը» վեպի հեղինակ Էլիֆ Շաֆաքի նկատմամբ, հայտնում է The Guardian-ը:

Ըստ ակտիվիստների՝ սա իշխանությունների կողմից ազատ խոսքի իրավունքի խոչընդոտման փորձ է:

Իշխանությունները հետաքննություն են սկսել այն գրողների նկատմամբ, որոնք իրենց ստեղծագործություններում անդրադառնում են վիճահարույց թեմաների, այդ թվում՝ երեխաների նկատմամբ սեռական բռնությանը, մանկապղծությանը: Նրանք մեղադրվում են այդ երևույթների խրախուսման համար:

Մասնավորապես Էլիֆ Շաֆաքը նշել է, որ վերջին երկու օրվա ընթացքում սպառնալիքներով հազարավոր հաղորդագրություններ է ստացել: Հեղինակի համար զարմանալի է այն հանգամանքը, որ երեխաների նկատմամբ սեռական բռնության բարձր մակարդակ ունեցող երկրի իշխանություններն այդ խնդրի լուծման ուղղությամբ քայլեր ձեռնարկելու փոխարեն, հետապնդում են խնդրի մասին բարձրաձայնող գրողներին:

«Սա մեծագույն ողբերգությունն է: Այս ամենը վերածվել է վհուկների որսի»,-նշել է նա:

The Guardian-ը հիշեցնում է, որ 2006թ. Շաֆաքը դատարանի առջև էր կանգնել «թրքականությունը վիրավորելու» մեղադրանքով: Այն ժամանակ դատարանը նրան մեղադրում էր «Ստամբուլի բիճը» վեպում Հայոց ցեղասպանության մասին գրելու համար:
