Հայաստանը նշում է Առաջին Հանրապետության հռչակման 101-ամյակը

Հայաստանն այսօր նշում է Առաջին Հանրապետության հռչակման 101-ամյակը: 1918 թվականի մայիսի 28-ին մայիսյան հերոսամարտերից` Սարդարապատից, Բաշ-Ապարանից, Ղարաքիլիսայից հետո ծնունդ առավ Հայաստանի Առաջին Հանրապետությունը:
Առաջին Հանրապետությունը հիմնադրվեց հայերի համար դժվարին ժամանակահատվածում և գոյատևեց ընդամենը 2 տարի՝ մինչև 1920 թվականի դեկտեմբերի 2-ը, երբ Հայաստանը խորհրդայնացավ։
1918թ. մայիսի 28-ին, Թիֆլիսում Անդրկովկասյան ժողովրդավարական դաշնային հանրապետության փլուզումից հետո «Հայկական ազգային խորհրդի» կողմից հռչակվեց Հայկական Հանրապետությունը (Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունը):
Անկախ Հայաստանի առաջին վարչապետը դարձավ Հովհաննես Քաջազնունին։ Հայաստանի ազգային դրոշ ընդունվեց եռագույնը՝ կարմիր, կապույտ, նարնջագույն: Անկախության առաջին տարեդարձի օրը` 1919-ի մայիսի 28-ին, կառավարությունը, որն արդեն գլխավորում էր Ալեքսանդր Խատիսյանը, Հայաստանը հռչակեց Անկախ և Միացյալ Հանրապետություն:
Անկախության հռչակման պահին տարածքների զգալի մասը բռնազավթված էին թուրքական զորքերի կողմից, որոնք արդեն գտնվում էին Էրիվանի մոտ: Սարդարապատում, Բաշ-Ապարանում և Ղարաքիլիսայում հայկական զորքերի տարած հաղթանակները կասեցրեցին թուրքերի առաջխաղացումը և վերացրեցին հայ ժողովրդի գլխին կախված ֆիզիկական ոչնչացման վտանգը:
1918-ի հունիսի 4-ին Բաթումում ստորագրվեց հայ-թուրքական հաշտության պայմանագիրը, ըստ որի, Հայաստանի կազմի մեջ էին մտնում Երևանի, Էջմիածնի, Ալեքսանդրապոլի, Դարալագյազի, Ղազախի, Բորչալուի գավառների որոշ մասերը և Նոր Բայազետի գավառը: Հայոց ազգային խորհրդի հիման վրա ստեղծվեց առաջին խորհրդարանը:
Հանրապետության օրը պաշտոնապես նշվում է 1992թ.-ից: Այն հայոց պետականության վերածննդի խորհրդանիշն է։
