Այսօր Հիսուս Քրիստոսի հարության օրն է

Քրիստոնեական ողջ աշխարհի համար ամենամեծ եւ սիրելի տոնը Զատիկն է։ Զատիկը շարժական տոն է, այսինքն ամեն տարի նրա նշելու օրը փոխվում է։ Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցին Զատիկը նշում է գարնան գիշերհավասարին հաջորդող լուսնի լրման առաջին կիրակի օրը (մարտի 22-ից հետո մինչև ապրիլի 25-ը)։
Տոնի անվանումը ծագում է հրեական «պասեք» բառից։
Պասեքը հրեաների կողմից տոնվում է ի նշան եգիպտական գերությունից ազատագրման և մասնավորապես Հին Կտակարանում նկարագրվող այն դրվագի, երբ Աստվածը նոխազի արյան միջոցով զատում է իր ժողովրդին եգիպտացիների վրա ուղարկված աղետից՝ անդրանիկ զավակների կոտորածից։
Հավատացյալների համար Զատիկը (Easter) Քրիստոսի հարության տոնն է։
Քրիստոնեական եկեղեցիները Հիսուս Քրիստոսի հարությունը տոնում են որպես Զատիկ, որովհետև ըստ քրիստոնեական ուսմունքի Քրիստոսն է հավիտենական այն զոհը կամ պատարագը, որի միջոցով մարդն ստանում է մեղքերի թողություն, ապա՝ կյանք և հարություն։
Զատիկը Հայերի մոտ տոնվել է ապրիլին՝ շատ ավելի վաղ, քան քրիստոնեությունն է։ Այն զատիկ է կոչվել ձմեռվանից գարունը զատվելու առթիվ։ Վարկածներ կան, որ սկզբնական շրջանում այն եղել է անշարժ տոն և համընկել է մարտի 21-ի գիշերահավասար օրվա հետ՝ գիշեր–ցերեկն իրարից զատելու իմաստով։
