Հայերի մոմավառությունը Սպիտակ տան առջեւ՝ Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման պահանջով

Սպիտակ տան առջեւ անցած մոմավառությունը հիշեցում էր Միացյալ Նահանգների նախագահին Հայոց ցեղասպանության փաստը ճանաչելու պահանջի մասին: Պահանջ, որն ըստ հավաքվածների անհրաժեշտ է պատմական արդարության վերականգնման եւ ապագայում նման ողբերգության կանխման համար: Այս անգամ մոմավառության մասնակիցները որոշեցին նաեւ հատուկ շնորհակալություն հայտնել ԱՄՆ-ի այն նահանգներին, որոնք մեկ դար առաջ հատուկ ներդրում ունեին ցեղասպանությունից տուժած հայ ժողովրդին օգնելու գործում.
Սնունդ, հագուստ եւ դեղորայք՝ Միացյալ Նահանգների քաղաքացիները 1916-1930 թվականներին Մերձավոր Արեւելքում ամերիկյան օգնության կազմակերպության շրջանակներում Հայոց ցեղասպանությունից տուժած հայերին շուրջ 2.6 միլիարդ դոլարի համարժեք օգնություն տրամադրեցին՝ գումար, որը գրեթե հավասար է այսօրվա Հայաստանի Հանրապետության պետական բյուջեին:
Միայն Ֆրեզնոն 30 տոննա չամիչ տրամադրեց, Սան Ֆրանցիսկոյում հավաքվել էր շուրջ 2000 տոննա հագուստ, Կալիֆոռնիայի Լոնգ Բիչի դպրոցների աղջիկները հավաքել էին 3000 խտացրած կաթ, Վիրջինիայից 2000 կամավոր էր գրանցվել, իսկ Միսիսիպին տրամադրել էր 2000 տոննա եգիպտացորեն եւ 200 տոննա ալյուր: Օգնություն, որի շնորհիվ փրկվեցին անթիվ մարդկային կյանքեր: Իսկ այսօր նաեւ այդ օգնության շնորհիվ փրկված հայերի ժառանգները Միացյալ Նահանգների մայրաքաղաքում Սպիտակ տան առջեւ հավաքվել էին կրկին անգամ բարձրացնելու պատմական արդարության իրենց պահանջը:
«Պարոն Թրամփ, ճանաչի՛ր Ցեղասպանությունը բայց եւ այնպես իմացիր, որ եթե դարձյալ ուրանաս, ես, որպես նոր ամերիկահայ սերնդի անդամ կվստահեցնեմ քեզ, որ իմ սերունդը այս կառավարությանը տիրանալով, պիտի փաստի, որ հայկական պատմությունը արմատախլության պատմություն չէ, այլ վերածնունդի պատմություն», - իս ելույթում հայտարարեց Նարեկ Կույումջանը:
Հիշեցնենք, որ Միացյալ Նահանգների նախագահը ապրիլի 24-ին ավանդաբար հատուկ հայտարարությամբ է հանդես գալիս, որը նվիրված է մեկ դար առաջ տեղի ունեցած հայերի կոտորածին, որը նախագահ Բարակ Օբամայից սկսած ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահները Մեծ Եղեռն են անվանում: Միացյալ Նահանգների 40-րդ նախագահ Ռոնալդ Ռեյգանը 1981 թվականի իր հայտարարության մեջ օգտագործել էր Հայոց ցեղասպանություն եզրը
