Այսօր Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցին նշում է Ծաղկազարդը, որը խորհրդանշում է Քրիստոսի հաղթական մուտքը Երուսաղեմ: 

Հիսուսի մուտքը Երուսաղեմ ժողովուրդն ընդունել է խանդավառությամբ` ձիթենու և արմավենու ճյուղերը, ինչպես նաև իրենց զգեստները փռելով ճանապարհի վրա և աղաղակելով. «Oվսաննա Բարձյալին, օրհնեալ լինի նա, ով գալիս է Տիրոջ անունով. օրհնեալ լինի մեր հոր` Դավթի թագավորությունը, որ գալիս է: Խաղաղություն երկնքում և Փառք բարձունքներում»: 

Համաձայն եկեղեցու հայրերի ուսուցումների՝ Հիսուսի առջև հանդերձները նետելը խորհրդանշել է մեղքերի ծածկույթից ազատվելը, որպեսզի Տերը մաքրեր այդ մեղքերը: Ոստեր և ճյուղեր ընծայելը խորհրդանշել է առանձնակի պատիվներ և հանդիսավորություն: Ձիթենին համարվել է իմաստության, խաղաղության, հաղթանակի և փառքի խորհրդանշան: Ձիթենու և արմավենու ճյուղերի ընծայումը Քրիստոսին, որը մեռյալ Ղազարոսին հարություն տվեց, խորհրդանշում է մահվան հանդեպ հաղթանակը: 

Ծաղկազարդի նախօրեին` շաբաթ օրը, կատարվում է Ծաղկազարդի նախատոնակը, բացվում է խորանի վարագույրը, իսկ հաջորդ օրը ժամերգությունից հետո մատուցվում է Ս. պատարագ: Ծաղկազարդի առավոտյան եկեղեցում օրհնվում են ձիթենու կամ ուռենու ոստերը և բաժանվում ժողովրդին: Ուռենու ոստերը, որոնք անպտուղ են, խորհրդանշում են հեթանոսներին, որոնք անպտուղ էին և պտղաբերեցին միայն Քրիստոսին ընծայվելուց հետո: Ոստերի փափկությունը դարձյալ խորհրդանշում է Քրիստոսին հետևողների խոնարհությունը:
