Ակնախոտի ծաղկման շրջանը հուլիս ամսից մինչև սեպտեմբեր ընկած ժամանակահատվածն է։ Ծաղկելու համար անհրաժեշտ է, որ այն գտնվի խոտածածկ տարածքում։ Այս բույսի օգտակար հատվածը նրա տերևներից ստացվող էքստրակտն է։ Այն պետք է ստանալ, երբ բույսը ծաղկում է։ Էքստրակտը բազմաթիվ օգտակար քիմիական բաղադրիչներ ունի։

Չափահասներին խորհուրդ է տրվում օրվա ընթացքում օգտագործել չորացրած ակնախոտի 2-4 գրամ՝ 3 անգամից ոչ ավելի։ Ակնախոտով թեյ պատրաստելու համար անհրաժեշտ է 2 ճաշի գդալ չորացրած ակնախոտ ավելացնել 200 մլ եռացող ջրին։ Թողեք այն 15 րոպե։ Օրվա ընթացքում 3 անգամ խմեք թեյն առանց շաքարի։
